It took 9 years and 3 billion miles to get this shot. Pluto’s icy Mountains.

The wife and I saw Rental Family last night. Can't recommend it enough. It's a poignant, subtle, sad yet at moments hilarious film following a down-on-his luck American actor in Tokyo. Brendan Fraser's performance was so on-point. Truly a gem of a film. imdb.com/title/tt141420…

The thing I miss most about living in Berlin is the human-scale beauty of so many of the residential buildings. Mid-rise (let alone beautiful mid-rise) in the USA is so uncommon.

Let’s build millions of buildings like these:

Whoa…

You might have been wrapping gifts incorrectly for your entire life. This is how they do it in Japan, using only one piece of tape

Their threat sensitivity has gone pathological.

This is a very good essay by @KelseyTuoc on childhood independence. The fact that 1/3 of Americans think a child has to be a literal teenager before they can be left home alone for an hour is lunacy.

Without bus lanes, this Toronto street barely functions. With bus lanes, 🤯

This looks so freaking cool and useful. I overwhelmingly think and organize in spacial-relationship terms and find normal note-keeping on my Mac burdensome. I'm always hacking together weirdly unnatural visual solutions to "try and make notes work." I'm optimistic on the…

I'm thinking one tangible use case for this notes app will be for interior designers to keep client mood boards with annotated photos, long notes, to do lists, meeting notes and short scribbles - all together in the same space.

Holy heck. That snow...

Oh my god... (By the way, Frederico is a great follow. I still learn a lot thanks to his great curation).

Okkkk. So now we're going to take one of the most memorable and effective critiques of the communist endeavor ever penned—a warning about utopian egalitarian ideologies—and turn it into its opposite? Animal Farm wasn’t about noble ideals being “corrupted.” It was about why they…

Kinda reminds me of a Cybertruck. Damn. I love it. Military design for craft is always aesthetically interesting – so many similarities to evolution in organisms: a ruthless culling of inefficient forms + highly motivated exploration of possibility space leads to forms that are…

SAME WITH CHILDHOOD! Great point by Eric Johnson who took his family to cut their own Xmas tree in #NorthCarolina: "Not all is merry and bright, of course. 'Quit eating parking lot ice!' I heard a harried mother shout... There were kids shrieking, kids covered in mud, kids…

It will be interesting to see what comes of this. Probably a lock of things no one can predict. (And memes. Lots of memes.)

Relatively new to Grok, but this limit seems absurd. "15 Grok 4 questions per 20 hours for now." 15!? That's barely anything.

Thankfully there are still sculptors creating awe-inspiring, uplifting work that celebrates human achievement and ability. More of that, and less of these horrid postmodern eyesores: nowtoronto.com/culture/toront… (The "Toronto Man" sculpture is near where I live).

We will cover the West with gigantic Greek statues. We are seeking investors to walk beside us in this endeavour.

The last few weeks I've been appreciating Grok more and more and Chat less and less. Grok just seems...smoother, less prone to malfunctions or censoring "I can't tell you that" statements. There's also some quality about it I haven't pinned down yet. Maybe an alignment with an…
