It’s absurd. This shooter was free for 5 days, may have committed another murder in that time, and ended up taking his own life long before they found him. Their performance throughout this debacle is nothing to celebrate.
As the administration has said, the algorithm will be licensed from ByteDance. If that is indeed true, this deal is illegal and unsafe for Americans. Forget the majority-CCP controlled ownership. Forget the ByteDance board seat. The algorithm would remain in China’s hands.

Discrimination against job applicants on the basis of race or sex is wrong. It's also illegal. The Civil Rights Act intentionally protects everybody against such discrimination, not just the classes perceived to 'need' it.
