A lot of trans people are going to have to leave Florida and Texas in the coming years. Chicago, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and Baltimore are all places with good legal protections, strong trans communities, and affordable housing.
It's not just that Trump won. It's that Joe Rogan, Dana White and Brett Favre won. Jailed insurrectionists won. The Alitos and the Thomases won. Vladimir Putin won. Racism won. Misogyny won. Sexism won. Global warming won. Xenophobia won. Most of all: Fear Won. That's what hurts.
In the coming days there's gonna be a lot of opining about what the Harris campaign did wrong, but this election was not an indictment of Kamala Harris. It was an indictment of America.
I was hoping this election would show people that hating on trans people wasn’t a winning message. It didn’t do that. All kinds of discrimination against us is about to get worse. Employment, healthcare, housing…people know they can get away with it now. This is a nightmare.

The single worst thing about Trump to me will always be how much he's changed people. I've watched friends and relatives become entirely new, worse people in the wake of his political rise. Like it's not merely that he's a terrible guy, it's that he's ruined people.
Incredible news. Zooey Zephyr, my fiancée, was re-elected to the Montana House of Representatives, getting 83% of the vote. Many of you will remember her for standing up for trans people in Montana, and then getting censured and kicked off the House floor. I'm so proud of her.
It is an honor to have been re-elected to the Montana House of Representatives. And I promise to do as I have always done: fight for my constituents, stand up against those who seek to break democracy, and be a bulwark against the rising tide of American fascism.
The final result will make no difference to the bigger picture; the ability of a vile ignorant pig of a man like Trump to make the election a nail-biter means America has lost. Bigly.
I for one, will never forget or forgive the amount of hatred leveled at trans people this election.
Unreal. Republicans have spent, according to the final tally, $215 million dollars on anti-trans advertisements across the United States, not including cable/streaming. It's been the biggest type of ad run by far by Republicans. This is their closing message.
These pundits need to stop saying that Democrats need to sell their policies better to working class voters. Democrats have done that. People voting for Trump want to indulge their bigotry and hatred, and Trump allows them to do it.
Even if Harris wins, a reminder that it should never have been this close. And we will need to reckon with the fact that half the country voted for fascism for a long time.
No matter what happens tonight, the fascist movement in the United States is powerful and growing, and we all have to gird ourselves to fight it.
