"AI" is a marketing term and they kind of won by forcing us to adopt it. Like there's some entity in the computer raising important questions about agency, art. It's just a content aggregator invented for the same reason tech does anything: skim human work and call it their own.
This is from Jan 2000 and relates to the abolition of Section 28. It all looks awfully familiar eh?
ELON 6 MONTHS AGO: Whichever side needs to build a wall to keep people from leaving is the bad one ELON NOW: LINKING TO ANY OTHER SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNT ON TWITTER IS BANNED I look forward to February when Elon bans any mention of Toyota or Ford motors
The acid test for any two competing socioeconomic systems is which side needs to build a wall to keep people from escaping? That’s the bad one!

People really need to understand how mainstream it has become in some tech VC circles to argue that journalism itself is dangerous as an idea and should be abolished, and that it will be up to the tech world to carry this out.
#Pressefreiheit darf nicht nach Belieben ein- und ausgeschaltet werden. Unten stehende Journalisten können auch uns ab heute nicht mehr folgen, kommentieren und kritisieren. Damit haben wir ein Problem @Twitter.
Nothing says free speech like suspending journalists who cover you.
„Free speech“ für Neonazis, aber nicht für Journalisten. nbcnews.com/tech/social-me…

Twitter suspends journalists who have been covering Elon Musk and the company
Musk joined a Twitter Space to say the suspensions were related to new rules banning private jet trackers. Twitter suspended an account that tweeted the whereabouts of his plane.
It was never about free speech. It was always about freeing the right from the consequences for hate speech and advocating for violence while crushing left media. They didn't even try to hide it.
And of course Hertz isn’t even paying the majority of the lawsuit, their insurance company is. The risk was factored in. They knew the strategy of reporting cars stolen by default had potential liabilities and these liabilities were factored in as part of the arbitrage
A lawsuit! None of the people responsible for this will ever be arrested or prosecuted. When people say crime is a social construct this is what they mean: when a corporation accuses you of stealing you’re caged. When a corporation lies and has you caged, they hand over some cash
to save some nickels Hertz mindlessly reported 1000s of cars stolen a year and got dozens of people arrested and jailed. Their punishment is to settle a lawsuit, none of the Hertz execs responsible for ruining lives and getting people kidnapped and caged will see a day in prison
The rental car company Hertz announced on Monday that it would pay about $168 million to settle disputes with hundreds of customers who claim they were falsely accused of vehicle theft. nyti.ms/3Y0yYL5
The IRS is warning Americans that this tax season they must report payments on Venmo, PayPal & Zelle of over $600. Meanwhile… The Pentagon just failed its FIFTH audit in a row, as they were unable to account for 61% of their $3.5 trillion in assets. $800 billion annual budget.
Elon Musk's Twitter just suspended the account of antifascist researcher @chadloder likely to suppress reporting on right-wing extremists. As I reported, Loder's painstaking research identifying a Proud Boy who attacked police on Jan 6 was cited by the DOJ theintercept.com/2021/11/10/pro…
Since Mr. Musk won't address any of my tweets about banned left leaning accounts despite regularly responding to right wing accounts at 4am, I have no choice left but to share this article and photo a bunch until I get suspended businessinsider.com/elon-musk-phot…
