Where modernized means added ads and used web frameworks to replace the start menu

Okay one more try Windows is one of the most impressive feats of software engineering. They modernized the OS with near perfect backwards compatibility over 10 years of hardware and 40 years of software.

How about think a bit longer and get some sleep for a real good solution instead of a quick patch?

We will work the whole night+24/7 to build an outage mode so the problem will be fixed extremely quickly

I wonder if the Nasdaq drops on Monday

My pleasure to come on Dwarkesh last week, I thought the questions and conversation were really good. I re-watched the pod just now too. First of all, yes I know, and I'm sorry that I speak so fast :). It's to my detriment because sometimes my speaking thread out-executes my…

Is it a skill issue if Claude skills don't work?

Claude's unwillingness to continue conversations after the context window is full is very frustrating. I am okay losing early context if I am working interactively on a project & making progress, I am not okay with suddenly being cut off and being forced to start a new chat.

A male ant. A while back I noticed a huge ant orgy outside of my house. This mant flew on my car, hung out for a couple of minutes, and died. As with so many other bugs, the males fulfill their purpose once they mate, and promptly drop dead.

I think I stepped into a wormhole back into 2020 *shudder* because I am seeing all over the place people are equating waning antibody titers to waning immune protection- which isn't true (and not just "because T cells," although for some diseases that is a big part of it). 🧵

Hey Apple users: If you're now experiencing hangs launching apps on the Mac, I figured out the problem using Little Snitch. It's trustd connecting to ocsp.apple.com Denying that connection fixes it, because OCSP is a soft failure. (Disconnect internet also fixes.)

This is dumb, but I want to get a CD hifi system and get back to collecting CDs again. I'm not an audiophile: I listen to mp3s with cheap headphones. Just want to reduce the amount of software as much as possible, and increase the amount of tangible, stable, physicality in life

When someone says "you're too smart for me", read it as "your explanation is bad". A good teacher makes you think you're smart. A bad teacher makes you think the teacher is smart.
