Check out this critical review my lab group put a lot of energy into over the past few years! We critically reviewed around 750 papers 📝 😅 focused on microplastics and molluscs in the field and laboratory. 🥼🦪 tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.10…

I’m convinced styela clave are the soulless victims of a sea witch. They look like they belong in Ursula’s garden… 😂 #LittleMermaid

Alkalinity enhancement was just explained as giving the ocean some tums and now I understand 😂 @AdamSubhas @UConnMarineSci

Published some of my dissertation work on selective feeding mechanisms with microplastics and bivalves! Give it a read, if you like :) pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10.10…

Please share: I will be cochairing the special session on emerging contaminants at the National Shellfisheries Association meeting in March 2023. Submit your abstract on any contaminant (pesticides, microplastics) and its effect on shellfish by Dec. 15th shellfish.org/annual-meeting

Blue sharks, while maybe not as glamorous as their white shark cousins, are the most widely distributed shark in the open ocean. However, scientists know very little about their population dynamics. A recent study set out to change that. oceanbites.org/blue-shark-beh…

In 1972, Ed Carpenter and colleagues published the 1st papers on #plasticpollution in the Atlantic @ScienceMagazine. The @nytimes and @washingtonpost reported. Others came forward with evidence from the Pacific, Sweden, even the 60s - but public interest was short-lived. #50years

Did you know #plasticpollution was discovered 50 years ago? A few researchers drew attention to the issue in the early 1970s, long before it was widely discussed. Why didn't they continue? For episode 9, they told me their stories🎧soundcloud.com/plastisphere-p… #PlasticFreeJuly
