I completely agree. But understanding actions—what people are actually doing—is a crucial first step. Without that clarity, applying GIGO (garbage in, garbage out) to the 'why' or 'how' becomes inevitable.
Analytics don't capture feelings. What they can tell you: - what people are doing What they can't tell you: - why they're doing it - how they feel about it - what exact next step to take To make grand assumptions about people's behavior is naive at best and dangerous at worst.
