No one was at corporate headquarters so Danhausen left a message.

Gah is my new favorite word. I feel like it sums up my thoughts on spending a day and a half hunting down an errant punctuation mark. #javascript

An entire day and a half spent convinced my code was right but mystified why it wouldn't work. All because of an extra colon. Gah! #javascript

I wonder if there's a standard CSS top-level template that people start with and adjust as needed for selectors like html, body, or even *. I'm seeing the box-sizing property used a lot. margin: 0; too

Can't wait to study more #javascript but I'm looking right now to beef up my #CSS skills. Don't have to be perfect, just better than I am.

Currently learning css grid and I think I really like it. Seems more intuitive than other positioning methods.

The number one ingredient to success is sticking with it for the long term

When commenting out code, remember to get it all, including that last curly bracket. Or you might spend 20 minutes trying to figure out why your css isn't working. 🙃 #html #css #CodeNewbie

(thread) code readability is usu. asserted as entirely subjective (in the same breath as "but shorter is almost always more readable"). readability is partly subjective but based more on prior exposure/familiarity than preference. there are objective parts, just like in prose.

I now know how to make an annoying popup. I promise not to use my powers for evil. #javascript

Really enjoying learning javascript at the moment. On the other hand, it's the first programming language I've studied since BASIC back in the 80s.

One month in: got a decent overview of html/css and #javascript Time to step back, start filling notebooks, and really dig in on the fundamentals. This career ain't gonna change itself.

now learning about event bubbling and stopPropagation in #javascript explained very well by @thenetninjauk in his Udemy course

I'd rather be coding.

so just cause I like tinkering, i tried to break Math.ceil in #javascript. Turns out, it stops working if you go out past 15 decimal places. Which is noteworthy because Math.PI goes out to 15 decimal places. I'm guessing it's got something to do with how javascript sees numbers.
