Game Master is a pretty good catch-all. Am I more a Facilitator or Coordinator, more Arbiter or Storyteller? I am all. I am a Game Master.

It feels like this would be a good (albeit brutal) double feature with “Bullet in the Head.”

Flaming Brothers [1987] Directed By: Joe Cheung One of my favorite films with Chow Yun-Fat and Alan Tang. A great story with overlaying arcs that gives depth to both characters on where their lives are headed, with two different outputs on life. A fantastic journey from the…

As a gamer, I enjoy cyberpunk. It’s fun in fantasy. But I’m not insane; I don’t want to actually live in a corporate dystopia.

Privatizing public services makes everything more expensive, less efficient, and offers less accountability. The only people who advocate for this are the mega-wealthy executives who would profit, and the politicians they pay off. Look what it did to healthcare.

For decades, scientists believed Prochlorococcus, the smallest and most abundant phytoplankton on Earth, would thrive in a warmer world. But research suggests the microscopic bacterium, which forms the foundation of the marine food web and helps regulate the planet’s climate,…

I didn’t play it on a Commodore system, but I did spend a lot of time on the aptly-named “Impossible Mission.” Like King’s Quest III,” I.M. has a timer, and you blow up/lose when the timer reaches zero. So it requires you to explore, memorize, die, and replay over and over again.

"Stay a while... stay forever!" Impossible Mission (Epyx, 1984) written by Dennis Caswell features a secret agent who must stop an evil genius, Professor Elvin Atombender. What a name! It was the first game to feature digitized speech. It was a technical showcase for the C64's…

Reading for pleasure has fallen by 40 percent since 2000. This is not progress. You should read because it's good for your brain, your soul. You should read because our freedoms will not long endure in a post-literate world. Most of all, you should read because it's fun.
