There’s just no loyalty in the new music committee. Everyone only cares about themselves. I’ve done projects (read “raised a boat load of money for”) in the past with great performers, then they turn around and do the same program with other folks. I guess it’s me

Academic Music folks: are there any cons to NOT being in NASM? I know there are many schools out there (mostly private) who aren’t. I don’t think my school actually requires it as the university is accredited through SACCS. It seems pointless. Thoughts?

I hate to say this, but I really dislike Terry Gross as an interviewer. I listen to her show every day, and am always super impressed with the guests she books, but for the life of me I can’t figure out why she is so well-regarded. I know I’m in the minority…
Academic friends: I’m putting together a syllabus for a rhythm class next fall. I taught a course like it 15 years ago but only once. If you have any suggestions for resources for rhythmic pedagogy let me know.

It’s that time of year in Atlanta when I sing “wisteria” to Def Leppard’s “hysteria”
"James Levine was not a great man with a single tragic flaw. He was an almost completely horrible person, with a single tragic talent." kennethwoods.net/blog1/2021/03/…
This is pretty dumb, and only pertinent to those of us of a certain age with kids, but...if Dwayne from What’s Happening meets the chicken from Moana “hey, hey, hey, Hei Hei” I’ll see myself out...
The 2021 application period for SICPP will begin by late January. Please be on the lookout on our social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) for when the application becomes live at sicpp.org and for more information about our re-imagined program.
