I took Vishnu(9) & friend to a chess camp near Brompton Cemetery earlier today. I remembered that there is a famous chess player there - Johannes Zukertort (28.Qb4!!) - so we paid homage. Kudos to @stuthefox for his work in 2012 that led to restoring the gravestone.

Very sad news - Icelandic GM Friðrik Ólafsson, who only recently turned 90, has passed away. The former FIDE President played three times in our Premier tournament, winning jointly in 1955/6 with Viktor Korchnoi. RIP. icelandmonitor.mbl.is/news/news/2025… via @IcelandMonitor

I love a Friday evening round and particularly enjoyed seeing the playing hall tonight. 2nd year running at Hastings and delighted to see 3 of my opponents from last yr are back again too. I've gone up a section but (somehow) off the mark with a stodgy draw.
