Indigo has / had several competitors. It got to where it is by providing better value than other airlines, not by govt decree. PAX cannot break the "monopoly". If other airlines can't match Indigo's performance, who can?

Nobody gifted them a 65% monopoly. They earned it with grit and sustained performance. Yes, they have screwed up on this one. But I don’t see a better alternative on domestic routes.

Nobody gave them,they acquired it SpiceJet/Tata/Vistara etc r doing best best but r not able to compete Indigo has excellent business model to run the Airlines SpiceJet has more Boeing Aircrafts & Indigo has Airbus but that makes a lot of differences Indigo has best execution
Remember, aviation is a global business. We are dependent on major foreign manufacturers for planes, engines.
