As a technician it seems counterintuitive maintain a core portfolio. When I use to work with P.M.s they were often limited for turnover for many reasons. (capital gains, wash sale, fund mandates, etc). I was wondering if any technicians maintain and trade around a core?

As much as I hate to see this happen, I just go back to the Joe Carter trade and how that helped shape the franchise for a WS run.

I know I'm not saying anything anyone hasn't, but Gavin Lux and Dustin May are about as good as you could expect the Indians to do in a Lindor trade. If that's on the table, you almost have to do it.
