Quoting so that I can pin this :)

The closest I've come to the feeling of Omarchy on a phone is Android with Olauncher. Gorgeous, distraction-free way to use a mobile phone. I run that on a S25 Edge. Great combo!

Linus wanted to run Unix at home without paying a fortune for a Sun workstation. He built Linux. We want to browse the web without everyone paying for it with their personal data. We're building @ladybirdbrowser.

If someone is using @brave on the phone and the laptop, they should be able to transfer files across devices via the browser. Super convenient for the user, increased browser adoption, win-win! It's kinda strange that browsers don't have local file transfer built in.

This gave me an idea to have an 'Olauncher recommends' section that lists some of the best free and open source apps. LocalSend would be first in the list. If you guys have recommendations, I'm all ears.

Just get an Android, install Olauncher (or Pro Launcher), add LocalSend, 1password, and Dropbox, and you have a perfect companion to Omarchy 🤘

We all saw this coming, right? A tiktok like app where all the video are AI generated. Meta was doing it and now Sora. Right now, someone has to enter a prompt to generate the videos. In the next version, AI will know exactly what interests you and generate the videos on the fly.

Since both Apple and Google now have their own journal apps, I thought maybe I should have one as well. 😅 Is anyone interested in a privacy friendly journaling app that looks like this?

Used to love reading the Chip magazines when in college. Happy to see Olauncher mentioned on their site.

Even though Elon Musk wants to make Twitter an everything app i.e. X, I don't think a social media app will become an everything app. AI apps have a much better chance of doing that. And if we're living in a good timeline, that AI app will come from the open-source community.

Every time OpenAI releases something AI assistant-y, my only thought is - man it would so cool if we had an open source on-device AI that did something similar.

finish something. anything. stop researching, planning, preparing to do the work and just do the work instead. it doesn’t matter if it’s great or terrible. you don’t need to impress anyone on your first try. you just need to prove to yourself that you can start and finish it.

Olauncher being called "an indie android OS" is dope. 😄

Olauncher - an indie android OS - is dope. Takes two minutes to set up. This is my phone:

It'd be super interesting if @grok generated header images based on user profile. @nikitabier

Not enough people are working on Music + AI. Maybe it's because the music industry is notorious for copyright strikes, but you can work around that by targeting indie artists who own their music. Imagine an app where artists can upload their tracks and immediately get several…

Customer care 😁

You'd be surprised how much Macbooks can take for the first 3 years, when they're under "Apple Care". After that, even a simple software update is a life and death situation.

Olauncher is still the best launcher I've used in years. Nothing else comes close. @tanujnotes Are you using your phone, or is your phone using you?
