Hey y’all the #evolution and #molecularecology communities need to realize that all the mountains of genomic data we are collecting are really valuable observations of the most fundamental level of biodiversity: genetic diversity. conbio.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/co…

Super excited to share my first first-author paper!!! Using 3D-printed mazes, we investigated the foraging behaviors of "zombie ants" during the early stages of infection. Results: Infected ants become arrhythmic and are less likely to participate in foraging efforts 🍄🐜🧟‍♀️

so happy to have been apart of this collaboration!! check out our recently published paper highlighting the importance of genomic metadata 🌎

Super excited to share results from a collaborative project I co-led over the pandemic - just out in PNAS (doi.org/10.1073/pnas.2…). We assessed publicly available genome data & found vast majority of samples are missing basic metadata - a huge problem for the field! Thread below

congrats to @Dowell_VOC for becoming a doctor!!! tried my best to capture your magnificent face in this poster. very proud & excited to see what’s up next for you 🌻

Ever wondered how animals can switch between rhythmic and “around the clock” activity? Or, how social insects, like ants and bees, can do so without any apparent ill effects. @CharissaB and I address some of these questions in carpenter ants using behavioral exp. and RNASeq.
