You get into a FLOW when you are passionate about that project you are working on. How would you know? When you simply forget about time or even eating. You get excited to get back to working on that project.

Letting go is hard for some: but it is part of the exercise of life. You have to exercise the muscle that wants control; so learning to let go of that control for kids, love ones, career, money and everything life brings. Simply just be grateful and stay in your present.
