1/many Today is a very exciting day for the entire @ashbyhq team - so I’m starting it off with an usually long post :) After years of working, mostly in quiet, with our first 500+ customers, we are launching publicly today!
We invest a lot in leverage at @ashbyhq. Our team isn't building bespoke products, we're creating a foundation to build multiple, high-quality products. That sentiment carries over to #devtools where Arthur bot (yes after the cartoon!) has automated a lot of our manual tasks...
My most recent project at @ashbyhq was to switch our rich text editor. In this blog post we share the process on how we picked @tiptap_editor. In the future we're going to share more about the actual migration process. ashbyhq.com/blog/company/t…
Thanks @IKEA_Presse for shipping a lot of air and paper in a box 50x the size of the item I ordered (a hinge).
Today we’re publishing our second post on @ashbyhq company internals. In this one I’m sharing some thoughts on how we think about the correlation between time ⏰ and productivity 📈...
At @ashbyhq, we use thoughtful communication to be unreasonably productive (engineers can focus 36 hours/week!). In our first (!) blog post, I share our motivations, internal guidelines, and challenges these guidelines can bring to a remote-first company: ashbyhq.com/culture/blog/t…
1/ I haven't shared much about what we've been building over the last two years yet; but alongside the product we've built an incredible engineering team and we're looking to grow it further! We have a distributed team across 🇺🇸&🇪🇺 time zones. jobs.ashbyhq.com/Ashby/f99c1c4a…
Here's a fun alternate version of the chart, suggested by @DrBonesMD, showing state-level partisanship measured by 2016 presidential vote. See if you can spot the correlation! washingtonpost.com/business/2020/…
I dream of a world where truth shapes people's politics, rather politics shaping what people think is true.
when debugging, your attitude matters (or in article form: jvns.ca/blog/debugging…)
The best solution would be for them to distribute it as a versioned library over SPM and not with iOS, this way, they can continue to work on it, while some of us can ship apps with the SwiftUI version we want. But I think it’s too tightly coupled with the os for that :/
Interesting, there's UITableViewDiffableDataSourceCellProvider and NSDiffableDataSourceSnapshot. Automatic table view animations? #WWDC19
SwiftUI and Combine are the most exciting technologies for devs Apple did since 2014. Not only because it's cool to have a declarative UI framework but also because it makes reactive programming more mainstream in the iOS dev community. #WWDC19
