There's a list to tick off when retiring or leaving. To be fair, I'd record me ticking it all off in front of a supervisor, before handing it to them. I think most experienced cops would! The job has a habit of loosing things and I wouldn't want a bill for police property!
The other day I had the 'pleasure' of handing over a prisoner to a Borough. My jaw hit the floor when I saw the level of paperwork required for the handover. 3.5 hours to prep it. This must cripple response teams. Oh, and don't start me on the new disclosure document. 🙄
