So ridiculous. This all started because a medical officer said students should be in school, and not roaming around their communities. Ummm, do they really think cancelling Match Break will prevent this?!

NEW: Will March Break be cancelled for Ontario schools? Education Minister @Sflecce told me moments ago on @bttoronto that an announcement will be made next week.

A friend of mine has decided that this year he his honouring his friend’s memory by raising money to help families impacted by covid. If you can, please consider donating. He’ll be running 50km & 100km as part of the fundraising efforts. Please RT. gofund.me/d7a94842

Thanks a lot @fordnation & @Sflecce!! Digital resources that I used just 2 weeks ago are no longer available to us since you chose not to renew licenses. So not only did I NOT get the training you say I did, the resources I and my students) knew how to use are gone! #onted #etfo

@fordnation⁩ says that hydro rates increasing by 2% is just inflation. If it’s “just inflation” than how dare you cap teachers, nurses etc at a 1% raise. You’re effectively drowning the middle class. thestar.com/politics/provi…

You are more than welcome. Sometimes it’s a good thing when your parents hold on to your old toys!

I know the Ford Conservatives are trying to spin a narrative that the unions are being difficult. The chorus of trustees, parents, & medical experts speaking out says otherwise. Halton trustees urge province to end ‘highly confusing’ back-to-school plan thestar.com/news/gta/2020/…

Wait!? @Sflecce office is closed until January...are schools are going back to full classes and full days?!? #SafeSeptemberON #SafetyFirst

At their peak, covid cases were 500 to 600 daily, we are already 120 daily and not that long ago 200. How long before we see 300-500 and shut down again? Why put kids at risk, why put teachers at risk? Universities closed til Jan... Lecces office closed til Jan. Demand better!

Great question @drmwarner. With some schools opening Aug 31 educators and parents are still waiting for a comprehensive outbreak protocol from the government. @ETFOeducators

Also what happens if Kid#1 is sent home from school A sick. Does Kid#2 from the same household who attends school B get pulled out too? The idea of cohorts makes sense, but maintaining them and keeping track of when they are violated, will be very difficult.

Saying it again, b/c I will be stuck on @Sflecce @fordnation's REJECTION of @TDSB plan for a while: Yes, 48min decrease to day presents challenges to parents. It's far from ideal. But large classes leading to school or province-wide SHUTDOWNS will present far greater challenges.

No amount of money is too much to spend on safety measures to prevent a huge second wave of community transmission driven by an unsafe school reopening.

Well this is interesting and certainly not comforting. #SafeSeptemberON
