It's essential as Londoners that we always refer to it by its proper name "Battersea Power Station station". There are two stations, and you're a tourist if you say otherwise theguardian.com/uk-news/2021/s…

Here’s a line I hear way more often than I want to. It’s a misconception that’s plagued running for way too long. So many people avoid running due to the fear that it will accelerate or cause knee osteoarthritis (OA). A thread to dispel some myths. 1/

This is great! I’d say I’d followed it unwittingly all my life, or tried to. Thanks for sharing @rifish 🙂

This one diagram has done more to shape my life and career than any other over the past few years. I first saw it shared by @AineKerr in a talk she gave in Germany. I never got the chance to thank her, because we didn't meet, so I'll do it now. I go back to it ALL the time.

I feel sorry for that Professor who lost his job for shagging during the lockdown. He should've just said he was worried his penis had stopped working and he wanted to double check.

Anyone else any the wiser after that? And worst powerpoint presentation ever! #COVID19 #StayAlert #UKlockdown

Fascinating disconnect between people's perceptions of the UK from inside and outside. Inside, the coverage is mostly serious but calm. And yet anyone I know following coverage of the UK from outside is frightened and outraged by what has happened.

I think the answer might be that I'm a relatively techy person, use loads of Google products, had a Gmail account in the first month etc etc...but have never heard of Google Meet

omg... Google's chief biz officer, on a Google Meet call with 1000s of staff, was asked why Zoom is dominating video chat. as he's answering, his kid walks in & asks if he's using Zoom 🤣 nytimes.com/2020/04/24/tec…

Austria's exit strategy sounds sensible. It'll stagger the relaxation of restrictions on businesses every fortnight. This week it's small stores, garden centres and DIY shops that open. Then larger retailers...then bars, restaurants, hotels. Why can't we do something like that?

Found the kid playing with her dog instead of Zooming with her teacher. She told me not to worry. She took a screenshot of herself “paying attention,” then cut her video & replaced it with the picture. “It’s a gallery view of 20 kids, mom. They can’t tell.” She is 10. #COVID19

I took a wander through brexity right wing twitter to see what is being said about the current crisis. Brace yourselves, there’s more madness here than the devil himself could wish for. 1/

My Mum and @beckaar as a baby. I wonder what she’d have made of lockdown and quarantine? She was a total hypochondriac so would have had covid-19 at least twice already 😂. She was also a lifelong technophobe but… instagram.com/p/B-6z779HZUi/…
