I’m currently taking bookings of my Core Vim Course for the first half of 2021. I teach the class online. If you’d like to book a private session for your team, please get in touch. Prices and contact details here: vimcasts.org/training/priva…
I’m considering putting the whole catalogue of @vimcasts on YouTube. Are there any reasons why I should hesitate?
It lives! My copy of Modern Vim has arrived.
The vimcasts media server is currently offline, so you can’t watch the videos (although the website is still online).
Episode #76: Pasting into a terminal buffer: vimcasts.org/episodes/neovi… In this video, we’ll look at how the Normal mode paste command works in a terminal buffer, and we’ll create a mapping to help with pasting text directly from Terminal mode.
Vim patch 8.0.1394 adds the TextYankPost. github.com/vim/vim/commit… I’ve updated the shownotes for episode 73 to reflect this: github.com/vimcasts/vimca…
Episode #75: Creating mappings for :terminal vimcasts.org/episodes/neovi… Just like :nnoremap and :inoremap create mappings for Normal and Insert mode, you can use :tnoremap in Neovim to create mappings for Terminal mode. #neovim
I have to say, I didn't think I'd care about having a terminal in Neovim, but after seeing @vimcasts talk about it, I tried it, and I'm totally sold. It's a little weird to run a terminal, in Neovim, in tmux, in iTerm, but also super neat for some things.
Episode #74: Neovim’s Terminal Emulator: vimcasts.org/episodes/neovi… This lets you run programs in a terminal buffer inside of Neovim.
Episode #73: Live substitution and yank highlighting vimcasts.org/episodes/neovi… Showing off some small but delightful features in Neovim.
Riffing on the “robot holding a writing implement” theme - here are the covers for Practical Vim and Modern Vim side by side.
Watch out for new content over the coming weeks in the “Neovim” category: vimcasts.org/categories/neo…
Episode #71: Meet Neovim: vimcasts.org/episodes/meet-… First of a series that will be exploring Neovim. Come on in, the water’s warm.
.@vimcasts is back? Woohoo!
