.@LRCkcrw A good podcast this week for me, in large part because the center/moderator did not just moderate but for a change actually actively espoused some centrist takes on the topics under discussion.

The US has really gotten stupid, in so many ways. bloomberg.com/opinion/articl…

Last night's @realtimers first dud show in a while, thanks to Russel Brand. His views certainly deserve a hearing as there is some truth/reality in them, even if I don't agree with his solutions. But he was kind of a rude jerk, didn't let anyone get a word in, and not that funny.

Interesting to me that Desantis can casually work in a phrase like "Faustian dystopia" into his comments. Not exactly MAGA phraseology. Not often mentioned are his degrees from Harvard and Yale.

Ron DeSantis is asked about Trump attacks: 'When you're leading, when you're getting things done, you take incoming fire...All that's just noise...At the end of the day, I would just tell people to go check out the scoreboard from last Tuesday night.' youtube.com/watch?v=8SPBOJ…

This polling is likely as shitty as a lot of other GOP polling this year, but I'm happy to have the GOP taking on Trump for now.

I find it maddening that the Dem party worked so hard for crazy Republican candidates in the primaries, and now it looks like some or all of them are going to win, a point Sara (@LRCkcrw) continually brings up (with good reason) in LRC.

We really need the same in the US: centrist politicians quitting their increasingly extremist Democrat and Republican parties, to form a Centrist common sense party. Unfortunately, in the US it's a pipe dream.

I found this week's @RealTimers one of the most entertaining ever. Really good chemistry and quick wit with @GovChristie, @KattyKay_, and @billmaher.

“You may only view analytics about your own Tweets.” How that line was even written into the code is beyond me. I don’t get the tools to see anyone else’s. @TwitterSupport what’s the timeline for fixing this?

.@kcrw I'm sorry, I can't listen with Gustavo Arellano as the Center. The majority of Americans are Centrist, even if our politicians are mainly on the extremes. It shouldn't be that hard to get a Centrist host.

Some Fed officials have argued that slowing inflation can be achieved by reducing job vacancies w/o increases in unemployment. We show that this runs against both theory and the historical evidence. Bringing vacancies down in a meaningful way always requires rises in unemployment
