This is the inverse of the happiness-by-age graph, right? Checks out.

This graph from @pablogguz_ of Spanish fiscal contributions by age demonstrates an important fact. The 40 and 50 year olds are carrying both their kids and their parents. And not just economically. This is why it's hard to be middle-aged.

I just want to tip my hat to the crack team of White House economists who were able to discover--in just a few short days--that the U.S. is dependent on China for smartphones, computers and semiconductors.

Wow, @dashlane are more than doubling the yearly subscription price with no email or anything explaining why. Think I’m going to migrate to Apple Passwords, which is free.

Can't find the tweet, but pretty sure I predicted this result on these grounds when Harris was nominated.

Twice America has put up a woman for president, and twice (it's now highly probable) Trump has beaten them. Sobering lesson on the reality of today's America.

I like Higashino Keigo a lot, but it’s unfortunate his books aren’t on Kindle. Wonder why.

How the actual fuck does a third party provider’s faulty software update paralyze air transport worldwide?

Resting heart rate in the mornings over the last four weeks. Tested positive for covid on the 20th and symptoms started on the 19th. It finally got me after four years. First few days were rough; worse than this appears. Started feeling better yesterday.

It's not even June and I think the aircon is going on tonight.

Another reason why we should use computers less in schools. Students should attend in person and write on paper. My kid does everything on an iPad or a laptop at school. None of the advantages are worth it. None.

AI detection in school is a losing game. AI detectors have high flaw positives & teacher intuition seems to work even worse: “Here we show in two experimental studies that novice and experienced teachers could not identify texts generated by ChatGPT among student-written texts.”

Really wish AI companies would find better ways of integrating their technology into existing services than sticking a damn chatbot everywhere. It feels very weird to have to type into websites or apps for anything other than a search.

Looks like it will cost a cool 1 million yen to fly the family to Edinburgh this summer. Can't find anything cheaper, no matter how convoluted the route. Thinking about sending the older kid by himself.

Men should probably use moisturiser and take better care of their skin, but you also need to get an appropriate amount of exposure to sunlight. Too little and too much are both bad. If your skin is darker, you need more. outsideonline.com/health/wellnes…

men. how can I convince you guys that you need to put on sunscreen every day. even if you're not going outside. even if it's a cloudy day. if you care at all about your skin you need to put on sunscreen every day. how can I convince you
