“Design is suppose to work, not look good.” Half the designers that say this are upset they can’t make UX look good and the other half have been taught the wrong things. There’s a reason designers that make things work and look good are busy and bank accounts high.

annoyed at how many open source web templates use sf pro in their figma files. it’s not licensed for general web use. inter is free. other great fonts are free.

ripple effect

and the last thought about motion that Ive learned recently. the more intentional your motion, the less your users notice it. and that’s the point. it just feels right.

motion is not about flashy effects. it’s about intention: – hover states should transition – clicks should respond instantly – loading shouldn’t hang – easing should be consistent

for products without strong visual branding, motion is the brand. it’s the difference between feeling lightweight vs clunky, thoughtful vs thrown together.

motion sets the tone. even in the most minimal ui, it shapes the rhythm, guides attention, and makes the experience feel alive.

"I designed this in one hour" We can tell. What is design twitters fascination with designing something fast? It's so silly.

ui motion feels non negotiable now. we’re moving away from static screens and into living, expressive interfaces. even small loading animations make a huge difference, especially for more utilitarian SaaS tools. it’s not just polish, it’s how the product feels.
