100% this. It’s Satoshi and Gavin Andresen that made the mistake of creating mempool policy (including “spam filters”) that’s divergent from consensus in the first place. This started in Bitcoin v0.3.17 (Oct 2010). These “knobs” should not have been created, especially *within…
May seem unintuitive, but legally, creating a native filter system, process for distribution, and legal notices of activity *increase, not decrease* the likelihood of gov interdiction and courts compelling repurposed use for gov demands - filters are a misadventurous gift to gov.
Yes exactly, the perceived lack of communication and public discourse (99% of hodlers don't use libera, mailing lists) is what kicked this whole thing off and gave the Knots camp ammo and a narrative to run with. Many open-source projects: linux kernal, kubernetes, gnome,…
Where is the public roadmap for Bitcoin Core? Bitcoin is already a multi trillion dollar asset and will continue to rapidly grow. Where is the dev roadmap? What key bug fixes and features will be worked on over the next 5-10 years? One of the key communication issues with…

Wait...are Bitcoin holders selling because they actually think it's dead? I think the @bitcoin_bugle funeral may have been too real??
it's programming 101 that any programming language can have data hidden in any number of ways. and internet power user 101 that any internet protocol can have data stuffed into protocol headers, formats etc. even completely non-IT savvy people can see that the english language…
This is actually a very astute analysis of Bitcoin culture today. Too many Bitcoiners are being sold Bitcoin as effectively a religious, cultural, spiritual movement rather than a technology and a protocol. I cannot think of a better leader of the religious vision of Bitcoin,…
This sums up a lot that's wrong with the state of Bitcoin. New Bitcoiners are coming in and are told that Bitcoin is perfect. It sounds more like a religion and less like a protocol. The environment of Bitcoin influencers and hero-worshipping has created an army of zealots who…

Bitcoin doesn't need "new features". Of course it will always need maintainers and patching of catastrophic bugs etc... but it's perfect the way it is as "money" and to want to "build everything on it" implies it is some sort of vanity science project and that's exactly how you…
I've been hesitating to post something like this at the risk of being canceled, but whatever, here it goes: Back in the earlier Bitcoin days (2013 for me), we often thought of altcoins as a sort of testnet. Good ideas that were implemented in certain altcoins may, eventually,…
Vitalik already made a place for Spammers. It’s called Ethereum. I don’t think it’s wise to make more places for spammers on or adjacent to Bitcoin. If you know, you Knots. Filters up. ✊🏼🫡
More like the unhinged IT guy who tries to sneak stuff into everyone’s computers, block employees from visiting certain websites, screams and begs for a raise because he is so poor while secretly having tens of millions of dollars, then gets “hacked” loses all his savings and has…
I used to be in IT and saw the same dichotomy with Core and Luke. A group of tinkering hobbyists vs the one guy everyone went to for the absolute fix for the problem. They all hated that one guy, but relied on him heavily. If that one guy was out on vac, everything went to shit.
AGI internally? That sounds nice. Meanwhile I pay $200 a month for this:

AGI has been achieved internally. Episode dropping tomorrow.

Pieter Wuille recently responded to questions and criticisms around his perspectives about spam and OP_RETURN... First, Pieter commented about demand for blockchain storage being infinite

Was just ranting to my wife about Massachusetts’ Motor Vehicle Excise Tax. I just paid $1100 to my town for simply owning my car. Each year I will be billed based on how much they say my car is worth. For our two cars, my wife and I pay around $2000 annually. I only bought…
This is CRAZY The state of Virginia is making people pay taxes on their cars, trailers, campers, RVs and boats EVERY YEAR based on their value Every year you must again pay taxes on your vehicles, even if they’re paid off - They give you an assessed value - Then there is a…
What if I told you that someone figured out a clever way to stop spam on the network? And that it’s been battle tested for over a decade? And that no other solutions ultimately work? It’s called proof of work.
Much of this rhetoric is starting to smell like r/btc in 2017 We can right the ship, we just need to refocus the mission around solving the spam issue. As it is right now, this movement isn't about solving spam. It's about sharing an ever growing list of twitter enemies.
GM from Spain 🇪🇸 All set up at @Wo_Bitcoin if you are around come say hi 👋

Just listened to Chelsea Clinton’s anti-MAHA podcast. The argument of the episode is RFK is right that we’re disastrously sick, but it’s “dangerous” to question the status quo. Chelsea had a discredited Big Food spokesperson on to discuss: ✅How it is antiquated dangerous to…

If your money can be paused, seized, frozen or inflated away, it isn’t yours. Real wealth starts with owning your assets. Systems are fragile when the pressure comes. A bank run, a court order, a policy change, freezing accounts, shuttering banks - suddenly what you thought was…
