That’s a great idea! Have you read Open by David Price? Similar to Rose, however it projects to the future and looks at what ‘open’ education/society may look like.. what with bricks and mortar universities no longer the only option etc. #ADEInquiry
A2 stop putting it into blocks of time and instead create learning spaces that allow for learning to happen in the moment and develop over time. Some things need longer to process #adeinquiry
P: how do we instil and build natural curiosity for learning in students that is accessible and inclusive for all? #ADEInquiry
It’s not just how students exhibit it, but the opportunities we create to allow them to express themselves.. In my role, I share everything I know with students about Keynote for example, so they are empowered to express themselves without being instructed to do so.. #ADEinquiry

We split young learners into smaller manageable groups rotating around the same outdoor activities in a carousel mixed with class activities. Students choose which activity and where. The most important aspect is that the child *chooses* to learn in their own way. #ADEInquiry
This is one aspect how Todd Rose’s ‘End of Average’ really changed my perspective and practice, it shows the pitfalls of our current (Taylorist) education system. And in contrast the advantages of a transdisciplinary/ personalised approach. #ADEInquiry
Choice is important but they only feel they have a choice if you show the possibilities. That’s why Teacher creativity is essential. If we only show what we are comfortable with we limit children’s learning #adeinquiry
Imagine the levels of engagement when learning is more than writing down facts but creating with the new knowledge. #ADEinquiry
Hey @JasonM_2, here’s #ADEinquiry. Laura posted the first article in the ADE community.
Hello amazing ADEs! I’ve just published a post in the community about a new #slowchat we are doing #ADEinquiry Provocations, questions, & constructing answers together! #ADE2020 #AppleEDUchat @TeachMeGG @lyndsdive85 @peterford @MarcWithersey @mat6453 @jakobesben @aliciabankhofer

Technology offers so many ways to communicate, not just written. It empowers learners to have a voice, in whatever media #adeinquiry #ade2020

A1 Technology gives our students a choice in how they show their learning (videos, posters, infographics). They have a choice of what and how they inquire into. It also gives them voice to make a difference by connecting with others, having an input through surveys #ADEinquiry
It really bugs me when people think if they have neutral colours, a stick hanging from the roof, and few art supplies around then I am doing "Reggio Emilia" #ADEinquiry Here is a great summary of what Reggio Emilia Approach actually consists of...

Supporting Teacher Agency – Take 1
Last year, when I was new to my school and new to my role, my biggest focus was to ‘seek to understand’. Now that I have had that first year (and what a year it was!) to learn about the…
@wakelet is the one thing I know for certain we will use more widely in primary and secondary next year. Student voice and agency has never been easier to share and enjoy! #ADEInquiry
We're committed to supporting you in your return to learning this new school year!💙😊 In the coming weeks, we'll be sharing new features, materials, and content, to help you engage communities, and make the most of Wakelet this fall! #WakeletWave🌊
#transdisciplinary balanced with disciplinary rigorous and integrity... a difficult balance to strike #adeinquiry
This is great. I also think developing projects in upper grades is a good connection to this approach. It's so easy to compartmentalize by subject area. In a project, subjects can be integrated to keep the learning real, meaningful, and authentic. #ADEinquiry
Conferencing is responsive teaching - differentiated and “just in time” and not “just in case”. Guided inquiries into exemplar texts also is inquiry! “Languages of Expression” is this language based or does it incorporate visual arts? #adeinquiry
This is beautiful - thinking about bringing this approach into older grades - we do Reading and Writing Workshop which I’ll be honest, I’ve had a tumultuous relationship with. After listening to @Mrs_Gilchrist recently though, mini lessons are provocations #adeinquiry
We are observing, documenting, and questioning to drive our own learning and understanding about our students further. We don’t want to teach students something they can learn themselves, so we set out provocations to empower them to make their own discoveries. #ADEinquiry
Students' voices “languages of expression” are heard and reflected from the documentation to the decisions that are made in what direction we will go through projects. The teacher is a researcher learning alongside the students. #ADEinquiry
Theory connected to practice: how does your belief that children are capable and competent affect your practice and their experience? #ADEinquiry would love specific examples if possible
@katiemartinedu offers some great start of the year questions to build rapport with our learners. #LCInnovation #ishcmcib #pypchat #pypconnected #edchat #isedchat @hktans @innovative_inq @cheevers143 @corieeolson
Yes! It is all about the pedagogy first. Focusing on the image of the child, students are viewed as capable and competent. They are co-constructers of their learning alongside peers and adults. #adeinquiry

Q2: How can the school day be reimagined to provide learners with greater ownership of their learning? @cgalleyedu #ADEinquiry @BronwynWrites
Well look how creative we have been over the past few weeks & we haven’t even gotten into teacher iTime! Before lockdown we had started Wednesday afternoon CPD with five options! Kids leave @12 (I know - amazing) & we spend the afternoon reading and discussing this! #ADEinquiry
Yes! There is knowledge of content, ability within a skill, and understanding of concepts and transferring. Have you heard of @JulieHStern ? Love her work about understanding/concept based learning and learning transfer #ADEinquiry

Carol Ann Tomlinson @cat3y has identified four areas where teachers can differentiate. Similarly, in these four areas there are opportunities for students to exhibit agency: content, process, product, and environment #ADEinquiry
