Today parents can, for the first time, access polygenic embryo testing for IQ and many diseases through a routine test (PGT-A) done worldwide and in 60% of US IVF cycles. Read on to learn how Herasight’s ImputePGTA algorithm is enabling polygenic testing in IVF to go global. 🧵
So pleased to see this paper officially published! We visualised chromosomes in live human embryos for the first time using two methods, and found that the first embryonic mitosis is extended, and frequently shows lagging chromosomes and multipolar chromosome segregation...
Binyam Mogessie (@BinyamMogessie) and Jiyeon Leem (@jiyeon_leem) from Yale MCDB reveal a new way to mimic egg aging in the lab, uncovering why chromosome errors rise with maternal age. 🧬✨ news.yale.edu/2025/11/03/new…
Embryonic development. This process involves a series of complex biological events, including cell division, cell differentiation, and organ formation, that occur after fertilization. Credit: 3ddmedicine h/t @slava__bobrov
For example, someone in Mongolia reached out to Herasight after hearing about us on Mongolian radio. By sending us their PGT-A data along with parental saliva samples, we can provide them with advanced genetic testing of embryos previously only available in the US.

EMBRIOLOGÍA. È quel ramo delle scienze biologiche che studia il processo di sviluppo d'un organismo dall'uovo, cioè la formazione dell'embrione. Buon Pomeriggio 🥰🥰🤍🖤
Amazing behavior inside a cell! In the #ctenophore Beroe, the #egg #nucleus travels long distances to explore several #sperm that have entered the egg before « choosing » one to fuse with. From my « Fertilization - The Story of sperm and egg » by Spektrum #exploringmyarchives

What if your baby never walks? What if they are never able to live independently? What if you could have stopped it… but chose not to? That’s the question @OrchidInc’s embryo screening forces. You optimize everything… career, diet, skincare… but you’re going to chance it on…
We’re excited to announce the first whole genome screening for embryos is available! Parents can get 100x more data about their embryos’ genomes, empowering them to make an informed decision and give their baby the best chance at a healthy start.
EXCITED to unroll this 🧵 on our new story on the metabolic licensing of animal development... How did we even get here..? shorturl.at/vuCIh Early embryo is thought of a pre-set machine that's set to go once it's fertilized - check out this gorgeous 📽️from Phil Keller!

Excited to get this preprint out! I wanted to highlight the phasing aspect of our pipeline for embryo reconstruction from PGT-A data, which I found particularly interesting as it required developing new methods to achieve the level of accuracy required for ImputePGTA.

PGT-A tests for chromosomal abnormalities and is routine in the US, with rates increasing in recent years, and is common globally. Furthermore, almost 1 million frozen embryos in the US already have PGT-A data, which can now be used for polygenic testing through Herasight.
Our study systematically explores numerous RNA isoform switch events in mouse pre-implantation embryos and unravels the dynamic changes in TE expression across different stages. #Research #RNAisoforms #EmbryoAnalysis
