Finally approved: a sensible way of giving feedback to students 😁👏 #exittickets #mathschat #feedbackNOTmarking
Today I used my visualiser in every lesson of my 6 period day. And for staff training. And ITT induction. And form time. I even took it to book club. 👍🏻 #feedbackNOTmarking
1 month into year 9 and my class are really working hard with the support of structure strips. Marked the whole lot (20 students) in 45 mins too with this check list and marking codes. #structurestrips #feedbacknotmarking
Jumped on the bandwagon with one of these from @TPositiveTC for next year! Such a helpful way to organise feedback from pupils’ work. #feedbacknotmarking
KS5 - inspired by @MrsHumanities #feedbacknotmarking - I don't give students their mark back initially. They have to go away and act upon the feedback. Then I re-mark, then give them their original grade and their new grade, which ALWAYS improves!
Made this feedback sheet for #aqareligiousstudies 12 Mark questions. Addicted to the noun project images in my resources at the moment. #feedbacknotmarking @TeamRE_UK @fdbkNOTmarking
Half-termly shout out to @MrsHumanities - dot marking means it took me 5 mins to mark 1st draft, green pen in class, then another 4 mins to mark re-write #historyteacher #teacher5aday #feedbacknotmarking @ukedchat
Most of my yr 10s made the same mistakes on this q. Using codes which I’ll place under the visualiser and which I’ve written on their q, I’ll give #feedbackNOTmarking next lesson to explain how to do better next time. More effective and cutting workload.
Never thought I’d say it but Google Drive is a thing of beauty (hated it all last year!) - purposeful feedback is a doddle; Y10 will be redrafting a P2Q3 tomorrow whilst I drop in and out of live docs. Remote learning has some positives. #PMA #feedbacknotmarking
I have literally just marked this pile of homework during 1- yes 1 episode of making a murderer season 2. I have completed 3 separate sheets for each of my classes and just onto my 4th. Definitely the way forward for my homework marking! #feedbacknotmarking @MrsHumanities
Proud of my yr10’s 100% effort on the exam question and then again for feedback and improvements. #historyteacher #feedbackNOTmarking #codedfeedback
I have created and used this for marking. It is reducing my workload tenfold: two sets of books marked in less than 24 hours! #feedbacknotmarking #teamenglish
A concern of using whole class feedback in non-core subjects is often about time. This is the format I use for feedback episodes (15-20 mins) on short answer Qs, which could be useful for humanities, RE and options #feedbacknotmarking #wholeclassfeedback
#feedbackNOTmarking I have been thinking of ways to reduce marking at A level, as it is the most time consuming part of the job for me (takes me 15 mins to mark 1 essay). So this year I will be trialing feedback podcasts, for students to use to improve their essays at home.
First use of @TPositiveTC marking and feedback sheet- got 28 books marked in 30 mins 👍 #historyteacher #feedbackNOTmarking
Marked my F writing papers tonight. Wrote down EBIs in a list on my page. Wrote codes on the front of papers. Typed up notes ready to staple to front of papers and will have students highlight. #feedbacknotmarking #mfltwitterati
Made these feedback sheets for our mock exams. Makes it easy to highlight feedback and an opportunity for self reflection #feedbacknotmarking #feedback #REteacher #mocks @TeamRE_UK @reonline_tweets @fdbkNOTmarking
Opinions please....I have been mostly using #feedbackNOTmarking for a while now but have not used a standardised sheet. Here is 1 I made by looking at many shared so far via the hashtag and @fdbkNOTmarking What do you think? Too busy? Just about right? #geographyteacher
I spent last year experimenting with feedback methods. This year I am adapting WCF to a new school, a new KS3 curriculum and entirely new GCSE. Feeling pretty pleased with these. #feedbacknotmarking #edutwiter #teaching #historyteacher
I am really proud of this. A years worth of work 😊 #feedbacknotmarking @EducEndowFoundn @m_chiles @BradleyKBusch
The culmination of a year long project researching & trialling feedback strategies. I have spent hours reading, many lessons using and then presenting it all at @researchED1. With thanks to @Biol_DrOg for the original formatting. @EdCPDChat #teaching #cpd #feedbacknotmarking

Carefully designed WCF paired with clear modelling allows time to be freed up for other planning/prep tasks whilst not compromising the quality of the feedback. #feedbackNOTmarking
Had a few messages about my marking workload & how I should do #feedbacknotmarking 😆 So just to clarify, I haven't marked a student book in the last 6 years. My dept only mark PPQs & exams at IB & GCSE. At KS3 we assess 1-2 formative tasks & 1 summative per topic (x3).
5 days until we launch! 🚀 from Monday 13th February you will be able to use Vibbl for free to give faster, more meaningful verbal feedback to your students. Sign up at vibbl.co.uk from Monday. #FeedbackNotMarking #Edutwitter #Feedback
Some great staff insights and sharing, a lovely team to work with! #feedbacknotmarking #effectivefeedback #nomoremarking @SouthViewSchool @BradleyKBusch
Inspired by school visits to @ClareSealy (former school) & @DawnCopping8, I have focused a lot on #feedbacknotmarking in recent years. Now working with @sarahlarsen74 to run a CPD session with a primary school about impactful feedback. We have questions for primary experts. 🧵
Bloody love the @TeacherFFB machine. Smashed out a set of books so fast! #feedbacknotmarking #REteacher
Blown away by the quality of work in Year 10 - annotations, improvements, pride #feedbacknotmarking #topic4rivers #Geography #geographyteacher
Amazing customer service from @TeacherFFB had an issue. Got in contact with me immediately and helped! Thanks Steve! #feedbacknotmarking
Lovely way to spend a morning! Thanks for having me! #feedbacknotmarking @UoMTeach_ed @TDonnai @SCA_Community
An excellent approach to feedback with plenty of concrete examples that can be taken away and used in the classroom. #feedbacknotmarking
2/3 Here are a few things I've stepped back from or given up over the last 6 months: 1. Coordination of TMGeographyIcons 😔 2. Trying to edit and finish the #FeedbackNOTmarking book 3. Blogging & resource sharing Sometimes I feel bad, like I've failed myself and others...
This is something I am trying to develop in school #feedbacknotmarking. Is this something you would be willing to share ?
Chair of Governors catch-up with primary Headteacher & we get talking about #feedbacknotmarking (as you do), @sarahlarsen74 @ClareSealy @DawnCopping8 can you help with any reading/blogs about this at primary level? I mentioned your excellent practice, seen during past visits.
Always gobsmacked at how this was the norm in my first 4 years of teaching. A constant cycle of teach, mark, teach, mark... For anyone experiencing this, there are schools out there that don't demand this! So glad I gave one more school a go back in 2016! #feedbackNOTmarking
During lockdown, I read all of the work my pupils submitted online. Just didn’t type individual comments. Instead, in live lessons, I gave verbal whole class feedback & did ‘re-teach’ tasks based on common errors. Not dissimilar to what I do in a real class. #FeedbackNotMarking
Finally approved: a sensible way of giving feedback to students 😁👏 #exittickets #mathschat #feedbackNOTmarking
Been asked by my HOD to produce a summary of feedback methods for the department to both inform and persuade a move away from extensive written feedback. A little less succinct than I’d planned!! #feedbacknotmarking
Nearly the end of term but already thinking about teaching and learning ideas for next year. Just made this snooker table plenary 🎱 #TeachingandLearning #feedbacknotmarking #plenary #teaching #reflection

Thanks to @KKNTeachLearn and @MrThorntonTeach as I will be building these feedback records for the Geography team next year. Trusting professionals to provide feedback in many forms without the requirement to mark stacks and stacks of books! #feedbacknotmarking

Playing around with the layout of my feedback lesson with Year 11 tomorrow. Using a few of the tips on documents/slides from @olicav His one-page summaries are really useful #feedbackNOTmarking #geographyteacher

Adapted my whole class feedback sheet as a result of my practitioner enquiry and pupil voice with a little help from @MrLPeachey. All set for #n5busman for tomorrow #bizedehs #feedbacknotmarking #activelearning #gradebooster

Take the books in and identify misconceptions and areas to #reteach #feedbacknotmarking #markplanteach #historyteacher
I think we can see progression between 1st and 2nd cake after a range of verbal feedback techniques were used in our session. #feedbackNOTmarking #teamreigate
Bloody love the @TeacherFFB machine. Smashed out a set of books so fast! #feedbacknotmarking #REteacher
Before teachers give feedback, we need to consider reasons why students are not engaged with feedback and identify ways to develop proactively recipients. #formativechat #feedbackNOTmarking

All ready to deliver our session about #feedbackNOTmarking through the medium of cupcake decorating!!
Year 12 Mocks ✅ another job done. A productive start to the week 💁🏻♀️ #aqasociology #feedbackNOTmarking
Have marked my first set of books using this template and I am amazed thanks @MrLPeachey WWW: it has reduced my marking time from about 20mins a book to 3 minutes! EBI: I had a glue stick at home that actually worked #NQT #Feedbacknotmarking
Trying to get on top of marking from the off- y11 marked using whole class feedback in 30 mins 😊, manageable after baby goes to sleep #feedbackNOTmarking @MrThorntonTeach @MrsHumanities
