It's Hurricane Season! #FridayFieldUpdate The picture shows corals "skirting" at the base. During a hurricane the branches may break off but the "skirt" will remain and regrow! This is the goal and its why our team put 900+ corals onto Carysfort Reef this week!

This #FridayFieldupdate is one of hope! We've observed remarkable resilience in the Upper Keys, and, many of our corals at the Tav and Carysfort Nurseries are still holding strong. With ongoing care, there is a good chance that many of our corals may survive this extreme heat.

It's #FridayFieldUpdate! Adverse weather conditions have mostly kept us off the water this week, but that hasn't stopped us from making waves on land! Currently, we're immersed into refining the design of our Coral Trees and building more of them to add to our nurseries!

This week's #FridayFieldUpdate is all about our in-water nurseries! Maintaining optimal conditions for our corals in the nurseries is a perpetual endeavor which is why this week focused on tree maintenance and disease removal.

Plastic fuels climate change throughout its lifecycle, with global carbon emissions projected at 20% by 2050. 99% of plastic is from fossil fuels; its production, refining, incineration, and degradation release greenhouse gases. #WetTribe #TidetotheOcean #FridayFieldUpdate

This week in our #FridayFieldUpdate, our teams have been keeping up with maintenance and inventory in our in-situ nurseries. This involves cleaning our trees, removing any competitors that may be present as well as taking stock of all the coral.
