Formative assessment >>> summative assessments. Checking, at various points throughout a unit/lesson, how students are grasping a concept is so important in the long run. Digital mind maps or student polls are a great tool for this! #GVTech

Finishing a course of technology integration (for educators) this week! Technology will play an important role in our classrooms and learning how to appropriately implement it will help tremendously. This class shifted my perspective for the better! #GVTech

In my current placement, they use all Apple products. The teachers use Apple TV to project from their computer on to the boarded. This is awesome because the teacher can use it with ease, but the students can also use it easily with their iPad's when presenting. #GVTech

FigJam is another neat tool I found that can be extremely helpful in my classroom. It is a website that allows you to have a jam bored. This is awesome because you can project it and your students can all voice their opinions on something anonymously and at once. #GVTech

Technological integration must help facilitate critical thinking. Today’s problems are complicated and rarely have one simple answer. Students have unprecedented amounts of information at their fingertips but without critical thinking, they can’t use it effectively. #gvtech

I have a rebellious soul. I follow rules better when I understand ‘the why’ or the law they were based on. Many school rules are based on CIPA, COPPA, and FERPA. School rules seem confusing? Read up! #GVtech

One of the best lessons I had in HS English was to write a complaint letter. As a real Gen X snark artist, I couldn't wait to lay into someone in writing. Mrs Pullen told us for our letter to be successful, our words need to be kind. Early digital citizenship. ISTE 3 #GVtech
