This is a peltier module. The temperature difference between the ice on top and the candle flame underneath generates enough current to light an LED. Application of Physics #jcscience #PW4
Teaching energy flow through food chains to junior science. Showed the energy flow using demo which started with 100ml of water (energy) and each time only 10% was passed on so 10ml to rabbit and then 1ml to fox 🐰🦊 #jcscience
Super teamwork on show today at Enfield CC as our second years took on their food chain challenges. #jcscience

Great task from @ITeachBoys92 for first year science today. Love how these hexagons are accessible to all levels of students. Everyone went home with a sense of achievement, not bad for a Friday afternoon :) #jcscience #mixedability
“Billy” as we called him had no organs at the start of class. Following some group research, students drew the organs and produced a fact sheet before presenting their organ to the class and pinning it to the model. By the end of the class all organs were in place. #JCScience
Finally done! Science folks, this Google sheet has 300 of the most popular Crash Course Science videos all organized nicely for you 😀 AND for every single video, there's a premade quiz, worksheet, and interactive video 😎 docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d… I hope this is as helpful as I…
#Ecology never felt so fun 🥼🪲🌱 2nd years getting to enjoy the 🌞 while out working on their ecology experiment for Science 👩🏽🔬 #JCScience
Finishing up BW LO 4 with first years. Using a gallery wall of their own work to reflect on their learning over the past few weeks. #JCScience #STEAMeducation @CTCSTEAM
Working on sustainability with 3rd years and focusing on UN Developmental Goal 11. Students had to create their own sustainable city. I added in extra detail of a budget and assigned roles to each student. Great hands on activity #jcscience #Sustainability #UNSDG
Revisiting electricity and simple electronics this week. Comparing current and voltage in series and parallel circuits #PW2 #PW5 #JcScience
Investigating the forces generated by a mousetrap catapults. Good practice on data collection and graphing skills. #JCScience #PW3
12 weeks of school left for the 3rd years so we're going to spend 3 weeks on each of the 4 strands hoping to jog a few memories. Starting with physics this week. #JCScience ⬇️

A bit of a messy one but a crowd pleaser nonetheless! Really great class modelling the phases of the moon with 2nd years. #Moon #STEAM #JCScience
Ever wondered how Lego can help with building materials on other planets? Check out these lego bricks made from meteorite dust! #JCScience
We've been exploring how a future Moon base might be built from materials on the lunar surface. Inspired by @LEGO_Group, we used dust from a meteorite to 3D-print 'space bricks' to test these ideas.
Comet A3 has been the brightest comet in the sky since Hale-Bopp in 1997. Irish photographer Colin Rodgers captured this amazing shot from the Curragh on Thursday Oct 17th during its more visible time in the sky. A3 even has an anti-tail which reveals its past path! #JCScience
3rd year science were busy investigating the chemical reaction between an acid and a carbonate to produce CO2 gas. They were also investigating the factors that affect the rate of a reaction @colmhuirecoed @JctScience #JCscience #chemistry #cmcoagobair
