insane focus on "impact" exists not just in for-profit elsevier companies but also in journals well-respected in #opensource 🌍: @JMLROrg rejected my #kernelmethods library coz "not popular enough with users/devs". Imagine if we rejected SVM from Vapnik coz no one else uses it?🤦‍♂️
