We're using a (second hand) #Kinect2 camera with a homemade toolbox based on #Vitruvius and #Unity to do the recordings. The set up is fairly cheap (compared to marker-based motion tracking systems) but was fiddly to set up. A technical minded colleague helped us.
[EN] LiDAR sensors are very good but still expensive. Just published an article proposing a methodology to analyze the performance of much cheaper RGB-D cameras in field conditions. We applied it to #Kinect2. It works well enough under certain conditions. mdpi.com/1424-8220/20/2…
