Year 1 have been visited by an exciting scientist today. We learnt all about about infra-red cameras #LGPAScience
R1 went outside and looked at all the changes of autumn. We talked about how the leaves change and what we need to wear! #LGPAScience
@laceygreenpa #LGPAScience Creation of a geode complete! The water evaporated over two weeks to reveal pink crystals.
@laceygreenpa making pancakes! Missed the bicarbonate of soda at first & discovered how it not only alters the appearance of the pancakes but cooking time too! #LGPAScience
Year 4 have made string telephones this afternoon to help them understand how sound travels over longer distances. #LGPAScience
#LGPAScience @laceygreenpa What a find on our walk today! From researching birds and their eggs, thinking about the measurements, colours and markings, we think this is from a Magpie.
#LGPAScience @laceygreenpa Exploring ice! Freezing blueberries in water to make tasty ice cubes to enjoy in our drinks! Seeing how long ice takes to melt on a hot radiator.
@laceygreenpa #LGPAScience Step two in creating a geode: mix crystal growing powder before pouring into the plaster bowl. Then leave for up to two weeks and watch the crystals start to grow as the water evaporates!
@laceygreenpa #LGPAScience I added sodium hydrogen carbonate onto the oil and it drifted slowly through the oil before reacting with the vinegar to make fizzy bubbles! The bubbles kept sinking and floating! Check out the videos below!
@laceygreenpa #LGPAScience Mixing chemicals to test their reactions!Sodium hydrogen carbonate helped make a blue mixture, tartaric acid helped make a red.Combining the two made a fizzing, foaming, purple liquid!
Perfect weather conditions for our Science experiment! 2W have braved the snow and ice this morning, to carry out their own Science experiment ⛄️❄️#LGPAScience

Year 2 have really enjoyed planning and conducting their own science experiment 👩🏼🔬🧑🏽🔬We were testing ‘Which materials can we bend, twist, squash and stretch?’ Once we had finished exploring, we had to write up our findings using key vocabulary. #LGPAScience

This week in R2 we have been exploring our bodies and senses. We labelled body parts we knew and explored our sense of touch #LGPA #LGPAScience
Year 2 have been exploring different materials found outside. We identified wood, plastic, glass, metal and brick. We then discussed why certain objects were made out of certain materials 🧱🔍 #LGPAScience
This week R2 have been looking at different foods. We decided which foods were healthy and which we should eat as a treat. R2 explored some vegetables and discussed if we had tried them before and if we like them or not. #LGPA #LGPAScience
#LGPAScience @laceygreenpa Learning to live more sustainably by growing fruits and vegetables. This summers crops have included broccoli, carrots and courgettes.
#LGPAScience @laceygreenpa Learning about different fish that live in our canals and rivers and discovering freshwater mussels.
#LGPAScience @laceygreenpa It’s been a summer spent exploring nature, learning about different animals and their habitats.
@laceygreenpa The knowledge of Crystallisation! I had so much fun! 🧪 🧫 🧬 ⚛️ 🎄 Libbie Tomlinson - 4A #LGPAScience

#LGPAScience @laceygreenpa Discovering tadpoles in a puddle early on in the Easter holidays. We keep visiting the puddle to observe the changes as the tadpoles move through their life cycle. We will upload more photos to show their development.
#LGPAScience @laceygreenpa Making Easter biscuits & discussing the method for combining ingredients; the pressure of firm warm hands rubbing together helps to melt the cold butter with the flour & create a breadcrumb consistency, egg yolk helps to bind.
#LGPAScience @laceygreenpa Making a lava lamp, thinking about why the different parts react as they do when added together. Thank you for the list of science experiments to try at home.
