Year 2 have been exploring different materials found outside. We identified wood, plastic, glass, metal and brick. We then discussed why certain objects were made out of certain materials 🧱🔍 #LGPAScience
Year 1 went on an invertebrate hunt in our gardens. We found lots of worms and woodlouse #LGPAScience
This week R2 have been looking at different foods. We decided which foods were healthy and which we should eat as a treat. R2 explored some vegetables and discussed if we had tried them before and if we like them or not. #LGPA #LGPAScience
Year 2 have really enjoyed planning and conducting their own science experiment 👩🏼🔬🧑🏽🔬We were testing ‘Which materials can we bend, twist, squash and stretch?’ Once we had finished exploring, we had to write up our findings using key vocabulary. #LGPAScience
This week in R2 we have been exploring our bodies and senses. We labelled body parts we knew and explored our sense of touch #LGPA #LGPAScience
@laceygreenpa #LGPAScience Step two in creating a geode: mix crystal growing powder before pouring into the plaster bowl. Then leave for up to two weeks and watch the crystals start to grow as the water evaporates!
@laceygreenpa #LGPAScience I added sodium hydrogen carbonate onto the oil and it drifted slowly through the oil before reacting with the vinegar to make fizzy bubbles!The bubbles kept sinking and floating! Check out the videos below!
@laceygreenpa #LGPAScience Mixing chemicals to test their reactions!Sodium hydrogen carbonate helped make a blue mixture, tartaric acid helped make a red.Combining the two made a fizzing, foaming, purple liquid!
