Scientists from around the world are at Fermilab this week for the International Symposium on Lattice Field Theory annual conference! #Lattice2023
I agree with the final slide of Joao C. Pinto Barrios' (@ETH_en) talk at @Fermilab #Lattice2023 that improvements in algorithms based on classical computers (e.g. cluster or complex Langevin) are crucial to complement & compete with those based on quantum computing.
Day 2 of #Lattice2023 @Fermilab well underway. Next up, quantum simulation of quantum field theories by @DMGrabowska chaired by @MKMontheLattice
Our #HiggsOnTheRoad was @Fermilab for the 40th International Symposium on Lattice Field Theory #Lattice2023. @EdinburghUni & @HiggsCentre was well represented with many good talks from staff, postdocs and PhDs! (@a_portelli @femtoverse @lepitangue to name just those on here)
Hundreds of hardcore theoretical physicists gathered in a plenary session at FNAL and attempted to solve the most difficult problem of all: navigating the 3-dimensional lattice layout of Wilson Hall to find parallel sessions on the first day of #Lattice2023
Three grant reports submitted; now it's time to pack for the #Lattice2023 trip. What should I bring?
#Lattice2023 is on its way - @Fermilab's A. Kronfeld starts with welcoming words before @938_MeV (@tcddublin) chairs the first insightful scientific session with news on #latticeQCD hadron structure X. Gao (@argonne) and machine learning improved sampling G. Kanwar (@unibern).
Now at @Fermilab #Lattice2023, @Julian_Urban (@MIT @iaifi_news) presented his latest work on machine learning strategies for improved sampling for gauge theories. After manually constructing 1+1d algorithm now onward to learning trivialising maps in n+1d w/ new masking patterns.
Our @UiSIMF postdoc Rasmus Larsen at the @Fermilab #Lattice2023 conference today remotely presented his recent proposal for improving the signal-to-noise ratio in #latticeQCD by exploiting the density of observables. Demonstrates real-world improvements. @forskningsradet
Great to see our work @uisimf @unistavanger in collab. with #HotQCD @unibielefeld @BrookhavenLab @michiganstateu featured prominently in H.T. Shu's plenary talk at @Fermilab #Lattice2023 conference. Still contemplating finding of T-independent quark potential. @forskningsradet
As our @uisimf @UniStavanger PhD student D. Alvestad was unable to give his talk at @Fermilab #Lattice2023 today, I substituted, presenting our latest work on #machinelearning assisted simulations of quantum real-time dynamics in 1+1d. Collaboration w/ @UniGraz. @forskningsradet
Just now @Fermilab #lattice2023 conference I presented recent work w/ J. Nordström (@liu_universitet) on a spacetime symmetry preserving discretization of initial value problems. We maintain manifest time-translation invariance & exactly preserve Noether charge. @forskningsradet
Today @AkioTomiya (@iput_osaka) presented his recent work (2306.11527) bringing transformer #machinelearning technology to fundamental physics simulations & extending it with equivariance in his @Fermilab #Lattice2023 talk "Equivariacne is all you need". Non-local correlations🤩!
Kudos to the organizers of the #Lattice2023 conference at @Fermilab for providing a fully #hybrid option. Great to see that US #NationalLab|s as community flagships can offer such an option. Very much looking forward to participating remotely. @doescience indico.fnal.gov/event/57249/
At #Lattice2023 C. Bonanno now presents the #LaVA professional training project (chaired by M.P. Lombardo supported @EctTrento @FBK_research @INFN_). Develops curated lectures & hands-on exercises by an international team of researchers. Preliminary web:👉sites.google.com/view/lattice-v…
It's conference season & my group @uisimf @unistavanger is excited to join the 40th International Symposium on #Lattice #FieldTheory #lattice2023. Exciting contributions on @forskningsradet funded research: #realtime complex Langevin, error-reduction & symmetry preserving schemes
Hello crypto enthusiasts! In this thread, we will discuss Lattice, a company focused on developing applications and infrastructure on the Ethereum network. 🚀@optimismFND @latticexyz checkidottt 👇 #NgeX #OPCraft #Lattice2023 #Optimism
Hope everyone enjoys #Lattice2023. For those who are starting to think about the next conference, a sneak peak of #Lattice2024 announcement can be found on the Indico site: indico.fnal.gov/event/57249/co…
Rachel Ivie, Senior Research Fellow at the American Institute of Physics, gave excellent insight into #GanderGap in physics at the #Lattice2023 plenary session. #WomenInSTEM

In the final plenary session of @Fermilab #Lattice2023 conference, Etsuko Ito (@osaka_univ @riken_en #iTHEMS @JST_info @jsps_sns) reported her latest work on the speed of sound in nuclear matter from 2-color #latticeQCD simulations. Insight on breaking conformal sound-barrier.
On the final day of @Fermilab #Lattice2023 Anthony Francis (@NYCU_official) presented latest updates from the #OpenLat #latticeQCD collaboration, which generates open access ensembles with stabilised Wilson fermions. Great initiative with (@fz_juelich @goetheuni @CNRS @tcddublin)

Another year, another miss for me. #Lattice2024, will try to be physically present at event. Do not know exactly how process happens for choosing a venue, but later today as venue for #Lattice2025 is chosen, it should be kept in mind that more people can attend it. #Lattice2023

The "My Journey as a Physicist" podcast poster at #Lattice2023 had a great turnout today! You could barely see my student, Bill Good, with so many people reading the poster. Had great discussion with many young/senior participants. Thank you! @938_MeV @RaulBriceno12 @masazumi318
