The Processor which sparked a REVOLUTION 💥 Apple's M1 Chip ❤️
In a split second, the M2 chip would cut its P-core clock speed from 3200MHz to 1894MHz, its E-core from 2228MHz to 1444Mhz, its GPU from 1393MHz to 289MHz. This resulted in total package power dropping from 29.46W to 7.31W. 3/7
M1 vs. M2 Chip Buyer’s Guide: How Much Better Really Is M2? macrumors.com/guide/m1-vs-m2… by @hartleycharlton
CPU Benchmarks have leaked for Apple's M2 chip! 3.49GHz CPU clock vs M1's 3.2GHz Single-core performance gain vs M1: 11.56% Multi-core performance gain vs M1: 19.45% A little bit better than my estimates. I'm impressed! browser.geekbench.com/v5/cpu/15482594 Thanks to @amoss_137 for sharing.
4nm A16 and M2 built with ARMv9 architecture. This will be the foundation for M2X. Mac Pro in Late-2022 will likely use 5nm M1 Max chip dies.
A16 Bionic Chip in iPhone 14 Reportedly Set to Be Based on 4nm Process macrumors.com/2021/11/03/a16… by @SamiFathi_
Looks like M1 pro has the same single core perf as the M1? So it’s mostly multi core perf and GPU?
Took me many hours more than I expected but here is my die shot interpretation of Apple's M1, M1 Pro and M1 Max. It looks like Apple is using a quad-core complex for CPU scaling, like AMD previously on Jaguar or Zen1-2. So no unified 24MB L2$ but rather 2x12MB L2$. 1/x
A *rough* die estimate based on Apple's image scaling: M1 ~ 120.45mm² M1 Pro ~245.08mm² M1 Max ~429.17mm² WARNING! The CPU&GPU core size is not identical between the images, Apple might have stretched the images a bit.
The #M1PRO Chip is a monster -5nm process -200GB/s Memory bandwidth -Upto 32GB unified memory -10-core CPU (8 High Performance + 2 High Efficiency) -16-core GPU #AppleEvent #TGFamily
M1 PRO -5nm process -200GB/s Memory bandwidth -32GB unified memory -10-core CPU -16-core GPU #AppleEvent
#AppleEvent
Apple’s new M1 Pro processor takes its in-house Arm-based chips to new heights theverge.com/2021/10/18/227…
I SOLVED Apple's A15 chip! The A15's cores are actually based on the M1 chip, but they're more efficient because they're built on 5nm+ process nodes. The M1X chip will be based on the M1/A15 cores. The M2 chip come with newly designed ARMv9 cores. A16 will be based on M2 cores.

Apple M1, el procesador más rápido ¿Ha llegado el fin de x86? -...
The ARM1 processor ran at 6 megahertz, while the M1 runs at 3.2 gigahertz, over 500 times faster. While the ARM1 was a single processor, the M1 has 4 high-performance CPU cores, 4 efficiency CPU cores, a 16-core neural engine, and 8-core GPU.
It's been a year since it was taped out, but now I can finally show the silicon! A 1.0 Ghz BOOM core with a 1 MB L2 cache in 6 mm2 (28 nm). 💥
