It’s been so chilly lately that the #crochet shawl I am making from @silverpebble wonderful book #makingwinter seems to be morphing into a super-cosy blanket! #handmadehour
After the lovely kind response to my childhood painting I’ve made a pact with myself to try and draw a little each week. Inspired by @tinybrush wonderful perpetual journals and @silverpebble wren in #makingwinter. I’ve set out my own journal and had a go with my new ink pen.
Going down a bit too well 😉Recipe from @silverpebble book #makingwinter. A delicious #sloegin hedgerow inspired cocktail complete with frozen bramble fruits in place of ice cubes. Just perfect 👌😍#wintereveningin #hygge #cocktail

My 1st book, #MakingWinter is a creative survival guide to the colder months, designed to lift your mood on grey days. It's full of projects inspired by & using nature finds & underpinned by science. Seeing pleasing images can improve #mentalhealth, so it's filled with my photos:

While snowfall has been lackluster this season, some colder temps are finally allowing @ski_mt_pleasant to crank out the manmade stuff this AM. Building a solid base depth is most important to keep skiers on the hill when the natural snow doesn’t suffice. #PAWX #MakingWinter

Caramel apple buns from @silverpebble #makingwinter book to drive away the homeschool maths blues... yum!
Nature finds. If you think these are pretty, you should pick up #MakingWinter and #TheWildRemedy, and also follow their author @silverpebble. The method I’ll be using to preserve the leaves is detailed in her first book.
It's that time of year. If you struggle with the longer nights and greyer days, you could do worse than treat yourself to #MakingWinter, @silverpebble 's crafty (in both senses) guide to successful overwintering. I'm planting bulbs, knowing there'll be scent & colour to come.
Back in our old haunt today. Showing Wren and Iver where Mummy and Daddy first met. It was bloody freezing, true to St Andrews form but it was starting to feel lovely and Christmassy none the less! #makingwinter ift.tt/2KMHJDw

Just went out in the moonlight to take down our winter wreath. Part of my Yuletide rituals since 2018 when your #makingwinter kindly showed me that you don't have to be a fancy schmancy florist to make them and, to misquote the technicolour one - any green will do. Thank you.
How did I miss this?? Not doing too bad thank you for asking Ms Pebble, the year is about to turn and I have my #makingwinter inspired wreath up! Hope the Yuletide passes as well as it can for you with snuggles and comfort and joy, Cxxz
On to the next one! Been looking forward to getting started on this - thank you for the inspiration @silverpebble 🥰🧶 #ChristmasCrochet #MakingWinter

Species to look out for: Hawthorn (Crateagus sp.). Colloquial names incl Arzy Garzies, Hagthorn, Bread & Cheese, May. Apparently witches made their brooms from the wood & bathing in dew from the blossom will confer beauty. There's a recipe for hawthorn gin in #makingwinter.
If you’d like the leaves you gather for wreaths or decorations to remain soft & supple throughout the year there’s also a tutorial for preserving them in #makingwinter and, er, 22 other nature-inspired projects that will help cheer dreich days 👀
