What could we be doing? Using @rubiconpubs #MathUp Minds On figuring out how many groups of 0.6 m are in 8 m. YUP! We’re dividing decimals tenths using different strategies. NOPE we’re not ‘moving’ decimals-Make sense of math @brainingcamp @HCMaltonDPCDSB @ssaraceno19 #dpmath
Gr 5s did some "math magic" this afternoon... turning triangles into parallelograms and parallelograms into rectangles. What great magicians! 🪄 Definitely grasping the relationship between the area of polygons! #ocsbMath #MathUp @StGabrielOCSB @OttCatholicSB
Grade 1 are showing their understanding of composing and decomposing a number by demonstrating their thinking with chosen math tools, representing solutions with equations and communicating their final answers in writing #mathup
Ss in Ms. Cipollone’s grade 6/7 class @ICCS0281 learning about dependent and independent events. This 3 part lesson is from @rubiconpubs #MathUp. In the Action task Ss calculate probabilities of both dependent & related independent events & compare the 2 situations. #probability

Exploring perfect squares in Ms. Grappone’s gr. 7 class @augustinetcdsb using #MathUp. Ss built small, medium, and large squares & represented them using multiplication equations. Ss then listed the first 20 perfect squares & discussed what they noticed about perfect squares.
Started off September with a Number talk from #MathUp @rubiconpubs in Ms. Grande’s grade 8 class @ICCS0281 This was a perfect task to review fractions. Through consolidation we unpacked the learning- Ss used different strategies to determine how many wholes. @BarbaraCapano
