To commemorate our #NeurIPS2019 poster at the program transformations workshop we put out a #PyMC4 alpha release github.com/pymc-devs/pymc4 Radon model: raw.githubusercontent.com/pymc-devs/pymc…
Today in #pymc3 #pymc4 journal club @colindcarroll gave a brief introduction to differential geometry with @TensorFlow.
Sneak-peek into #PyMC4 with the radon model: github.com/pymc-devs/pymc… Still pre-alpha but if you want to play around, use this branch: github.com/pymc-devs/pymc…
Flying back to New York = four jetlagged mornings, but I hacked on #PyMC4 in the 4am dark and it now has support for random variables so
We submitted a paper on #PyMC4 to #NeurIPS2019, check it out at openreview.net/forum?id=rkgzj…. @ferrine96 @colindcarroll @junpenglao
Big announcement on #PyMC4 (it will be based on #TensorFlow probability) as well as #PyMC3 (we will take over #Theano maintenance) medium.com/@pymc_devs/the…
Excited for #NeurIPS2019, will present a #PyMC4 poster in Sunday with @ferrine96. If you're at the conference and would like to chat, let me know!
@pymc_devs will base #PyMC4 on @TensorFlow probability.

Super excited by the #pymc4 developer summit happening in London in December. Looking forward to meeting some people face to face
Our #PyMC4 hackathon was super productive. We added shape, observed and sampling support, as well as example models. Then, @ferrine96 figured out a way better design and rewrote the whole thing in a couple of hours.
One of these days i am going to get good at #PyMC4 I swear I will.
So true. #PyMC3 is amazing for statistical modeling and I’m sure with a new backend #PyMC4 will combine the best of stat modeling and prop deep net modeling

A cool part about being #phdone is that I can start using #pymc4 in my day-to-day stuff, hopefully surfacing some bugs that would otherwise be too costly for me to experience :)
If you want to get started hacking on #PyMC4, Luciano Paz put together a small documentation project here: github.com/pymc-devs/pymc…
So much fun to meet the #PyMC4 team this week! Amazing group, broad experience, from all over the world.
However it would have been nice to a more inviting frontend for #tensorflow probability. RIP #pymc4
So what does mean for #PyMC4? Is this a different or better way forward?

Very excited to see pre-release of #PYMC4 github.com/pymc-devs/pymc4 looking forward to get a more stable version, and hope will work with pymc3 at least for a while as transition period.

Hey! I'm at #NeurIPS2019! Whistler was great⛷️! Will be happy to chat about a lot of things: #pymc4, #geoopt, Bayesian Stat Models and Hyperbolic Deep Learning!

We are making good progress on #PyMC4, just yesterday I sampled the 8 schools model with NUTS (all in TF, fully compiled and vectorized across chains). Mostly work by @ferrine96. Very hard to say when and if it will supersede #PyMC3, but we will continue to maintain it either way
.@twiecki I've assumed PyMC4 will someday replace PyMC3 as the primary PyMC implementation. If that's right, when do you think it's most likely to happen? The repo for 3 has more recent activity than the repo for 4, so I'm wondering if the plans for 4 have changed
That might sound obvious, but just for fun I looked at coverage and tried to fill the gaps with tests. And "ha-ha classic" I found bugs in my #pymc4 code🐞 Moral: mind the coverage🤷♂️
Quick poll on #PyMC4 API proposal: @pm.model def linear_regression(): coeffs = yield pm.Normal(0, 1, name='coeffs') All RVs need that yield which does stuff that's not really necessary to understand to use it. Seeing that for the first time, how do you feel about using it?

@avibryant Avi was it you tweeting about 'better PPLs for avoiding need to reparameterise models?' github.com/pymc-devs/symb… came up today at #pymc4.
I wish I had #pymc3 on @TensorFlow. The theano baggage isn't *really* costly. But I'm lazy and tiny frictions frustrate me. I can't wait for #pymc4!
