I noticed avg write stalls on tempdb of over 100ms. I raised the issue and was told it doesn't hurt user queries because those writes happen in memory. I always thought writes to data files were physical IO that happen during working in tempdb. Can someone clarify? #sqlhelp
So when you update a varbinary value in SQL Server is is writing over it in the same storage location or just writing a new one and updating the pointer #sqlhelp
So I know varbinary data isn’t normally stored on a page with other data in a table. However when an action is done (like a clustered index rebuild) does that have an impact on those pages with the varbinary data or are just pointers updated? #sqlhelp
