.@SciPyConf #SciPy2023 sprints day 2: hooking up fastplotlib canvas to @napari_imaging ViewerModel (+dims and layerlist) with @caitlinllewis and @kushalkolar = prototype browser/notebook front-end for napari. Probably most elated I’ve ever felt in a sprint. 😭😍😍😍
So many great takeaways from @ruchowdh’s keynote on AI! I’ll try to thread some, I’m paraphrasing and summarizing so these are my own thoughts. #scipy2023
Walking around #SciPy2023 venue is great. Irregardless of 38C at 7pm (fixed with the many kinds of beers you can find in Texas).
The good news: @LeahAWasser was able to give a lightning talk about @pyOpenSci at #SciPy2023 The bad news: @SciPyConf had its first shark attack
"We need a full ecosystem approach to addressing responsible AI" -- @ruchowdh at #SciPy2023 That includes us, @SciPyConf! Couldn't say it better.
I think I know of more particle physics related tutorial and talk proposals for #SciPy2024 then when I co-chaired Astronomy and Physics in #SciPy2023. Makes me very happy to see my field engage more broadly with the scientific Python community!

As a final love note to #SciPy2023, the hero that is @dillonniederhut who runs conference proceedings each year made it possible for people to write their proceedings in LaTeX instead of reStructuredText! github.com/scipy-conferen… We need to invent SciPy service awards for this!
Delighted to see this paper recognized at the esteemed #SciPy2023 Conference! Congratulations to authors @JamesGaboardi and "Joe Tuccillo " for their hard work👏 It deserves the spotlight among researchers and professionals. Grateful to contribute to this remarkable endeavor.
