I think that @Tesla should use #SourceHanSans as their in-vehicle UI font for East Asian languages, mainly so that owners can name their vehicles 𰻞𰻞麵 or the 84-stroke 𱁬. @elonmusk
Those projects have been out of my hands for six months. With that said, I already added the #ExtensionG mappings in my private builds of #SourceHanSans, #SourceHanSerif, and #SourceHanMono. For most people, @FontTools' ttx is their new best friend. 😉

The best part about this exercise is that the “Black On White” glyph, which exhibits similar issues, is actual #SourceHanSans glyph data for U+328E ㊎. In other words: very much #RealWorld.
Interestingly, @googlefonts’ woff2 project can convert the #SourceHanSans Super OTC into a WOFF2 Collection by executing woff2_compress, but executing woff2_decompress fails to convert the resulting WOFF2 Collection back into an OpenType Collection. github.com/google/woff2

I just rebuilt my private version of the 216-font “Source Han & Noto CJK” Ultra OTC using #SourceHanSans and #NotoSansCJK Version 2.002, after having corrected the TW mapping and 'locl' GSUB feature lookups associated with the glyphs for U+30EDE 𰻞. Its size is 405,456,928 bytes.

I am not sure whether this helps, but “The 'OS/2' Table” section of the latest #SourceHanSans ReadMe (PDF) that I prepared while still at Adobe provides what we found were useful settings, in terms of setting cross-platform vertical metrics for multiple-script Pan-CJK fonts.
