Repeated patterns represented as graphs look so cool 😎. Grade 4s rocked this challenge! #tldsblearns #tldsbmath
Lovely trip to our inverse function art gallery today. Stretching our legs while gap closing and pushing our thinking. Great math talk! #tldsbmath
All my grade 4s had great success today creating their own equations with multiple operations using @MathigonOrg today! Great visualization tool! #tldsblearns #tldsbmath
Grade 4s planned out their dream farms today! We are problem solving area using representational and abstract thinking, but concrete if we need it! Great job 4s! #TLDSBMath
Let’s play Median War!! Lots of student engagement with this fun card game introduced by Ms Bergin! #TLDSBMath #TLDSBlearns
Daily Decimal Fun! This is how we tackle scary decimals in our classroom. #tldsblearns #tldsbmath #computationalfluency #numbersense @tldsb #scaffoldingdecimals
We’re starting division with fractions for remainders using @MathigonOrg ! Students can choose fraction bars that are split into the same number of pieces as kids sharing in problem to find remainder. #tldsblearns #tldsbMATH
Do these 2 parallelograms have the same area? Most students said No until they had to prove it! Learning was so much greater when they cut & manipulated the shapes instead of just having them use the formula to figure it out! A lot of lightbulbs went off! @RidgewoodPS #tldsbmath
We experimented with concept circles for the first time today. How many different ways can you represent a number? A great opportunity to show a variety of math concepts they have learned this year. Ss: “This is such fun math!” #gatorsgrow #tldsbmath
Grade 1's are starting off the year with a new Estimation Challenge! They have until Friday to make their estimates and then I'll reveal the correct amounts! 🧮 #tldsbmath #MathFun #estimation
Great Math learning at Archie Stouffer ES. It is so nice to have in person Math PD for Grades 1-8 across the board! #tldsbmath
we worked on growing patterns and t-charts. We created a human growing pattern t-chart. Girls stood on the figure side and boys were the attributes growing by one each time. This hands on learning activity had the kid laughing and asking great question. #tldsblearns #tldsbmath
The time to first math on the page today was < 30 seconds as we took on the penny task in MBF 3C. #tldsblearns #TLDSBmath #vnps
Our name angles (classifying and measuring) have helped us recognize that: angles are everywhere. TRY watching the olympics without noticing angles & polygons in every event #TLDSBlearns #TLDSBmath
Let’s hope the weather stays nice because these ladies love learning outside. Today they took their whiteboards out and quizzed each other as we prepare for tomorrows test. #tldsblearns #tldsbmath @HHSS_RedHawks
Wikki Stick angle fun! This is my fav way to introduce constructing angles! @FenelonTownship #tldsblearns #tldsbmath

Our district did a great job of this! @EinarsonErika organized and led this Book Study. #tldsbmath
I'm thinking about trying to organize a "Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics" by @pgliljedahl Book Study in my school district. Anyone out there ever lead or participate in one, and can offer some advice/suggestions? #MTBoS #iteachmath
Our last Math Games Friday game was decimal war! We love a good card game! @FenelonTownship #tldsbmath #tldsblearns
Math Games Friday Round 2 is “fill two”. In partners, race to get the closest to 2.00 using decimal game cards. How close can you get without going over?! Lots of groans when they had to miss a turn bc a card couldn’t fit! @FenelonTownship #tldsblearns #tldsbmath
Having our first round of Math Games Friday in our room today. Up first is comparing decimals to the thousandths Yahtzee style! Perfect for our competitive crew! #tldsblearns #tldsbmath @FenelonTownship
Love this! Instead of saying "borrow" when subtracting, consider saying... youtu.be/j7g5CpTURyM via @YouTube #TLDSBmath
Absolutely beautiful way to explain the logic of long division early on so that Ss understand concept. Even as the Qs get harder, at least they understand concept. @LeanneC3046 @MeganBu52587249 @MrsTindale #tldsbmath youtu.be/9xQg6YvimDQ

Great way to think of why we do need common denominators when adding fractions and why we don’t need common denominators when multiplying fractions: youtu.be/WFfIGkA6_9I #TLDSBmath
We’re having fun with our new math stations 👌 @centralsenior #TLDSBmath @tldsbmath Thanks for the ideas @Mrs_NielsenCKL
Forever LOVE using @MsClements_ “how can we make angles with our body” activity to solidify our classifying angles learning & give more protractor practice. Yes, they chose their own emoji’s 😅@FenelonTownship #tldsblearns #tldsbmath
Wikki sticks are so fun to build angles! One has moved on to creating angles without wikki sticks! #BellLetsTalk #tldsbmath
Some Grinch Hour of Code this morning for our math. Listening to their excitement when they beat a hard level is awesome! 🤩 @FenelonTownship #HappyHolidays #tldsbmath 🎅🏼🎄
Solving theoretical probability of our smartie box today. They made predictions based off the percents calculated & then drew a smartie 20 times. They solved the experimental probability % & then compared. Finally, they got to eat their treat! @FenelonTownship #tldsbmath
