Last night CAL FIRE-San Bernardino Unit Firefighters assisted the #USForestService with a Vegetation Fire in the area of Camp Conrad, in Jenks Lake. Aggressive firefighting contained the fire to 1/4 acre of brush and isolated timber.

#SmokeyBear turns 78! Born on Aug 9, 1944, the #USForestService & #AdCouncil made a bear the symbol for their #ForestFirePrevention campaign. Albert Staehle painted the 1st poster of a bear pouring H2O on a campfire. In 1947, his slogan became “Only YOU Can Prevent Forest Fires!”
