How can we introduce simplifying fractions so that all students immediately grasp the concept? Here’s one way, from 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘛𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘠𝘰𝘶, 𝘉𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘛𝘸𝘰: 𝘍𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴:

⅕ ÷ ⅕ ÷ ⅕ ÷ ⅕ = ⅕ × 5 ÷ ⅕ ÷ ⅕ = 1 × 5 ÷ ⅕ = 5 × 5 = 25 ✅ (Option c) Understanding that division by a fraction can always be approached by multiplying by its reciprocal makes this process easier.
