A very happy #FragmentFriday from me and this adorable little early modern book robed in a medieval bifolium parchment cover. 📜 @SCA_MULibrary RB TH 5 1628, Cologne #Fragmentology #bookcovers
What a fantastic day perusing some intriguing French manuscripts and printed books (with in situ fragments) in York Minster Library & Archives @YorkMinLearning yesterday. Exciting projects to pursue here with colleagues #fragmentology #fragments Now to find a local X-ray machine!
So pleased with this exhibition now open at the Stanley and Audrey Burton Gallery in the Parkinson Building @UniversityLeeds @LULGalleries My favourite @riponcathedral fragment from the Prose Lancelot is on display & some fabulous coins from the Winchester Cabinet #fragmentology
Intriguing boards of an Averbode ledger made up of parchment and paper manuscripts, leaves from printed books and discarded documents, all pasted together and covered with leather. #fragmentology
The exploration of the Gubbio fragments continues thanks to the efforts of @Laurarogari_, who sent me a photo of this spectacular fragment (Vulgate, First Book of Maccabees 1:1-27, possibly s. X). @FragmentariumMS #fragmentfriday #fragmentology
Both @Laurarogari_ and I are very grateful to the Archivio di Stato di Perugia for their wonderful hospitality and for letting us inspect a few of their stunning fragments. #fragmentology
As part of the St John's College Digitization Project, several medieval binding fragments are being photographed. This is MS 235 (fragment 24[a]), a 13th-century vellum fragment written in gothic textura semiquadrata. #medievaltwitter #fragmentology
#fragmentfriday treat from Oxford. Could anyone offer a clue for this sheet? Looks like a commentary on Rev 2:8 but it’s not giving in. Please give it a go. #fragmentology people?
Incredible day @LULGalleries #fragmentology study day with @riponcathedral @RiponDean @nkivilcimyavuz @LCostantini89 @alicefoxartist @leedslibraries Thanks for coming and looking forward to the next joint project!
As part of the St John's Digitization Project, several of our fragments are being photographed, making them more accessible for study. Keep an eye out for more sneak previews! #fragmentology #medievalmanuscript #medievaltwitter #DigiLibSJOL
Been a bit since I’ve shown some #fragmentology here is some printed binding waste in which the cover boards are made of built-up recycled pages- enjoy!
It seems that @laurarogari_ spotted an interesting fragment today in Gubbio! It’s great to receive updates from the Biblioteca Sperelliana and I’m very proud to supervise her PhD with @Simona_Inserra. I look forward to some fragment hunting together soon! #fragmentology
Nifty 1501 edition of the letters of Pliny the Younger. But for me, the star of the show is the printed book’s manuscript binding: a recycled leaf from a copy of Gregory the Great’s Moralia in Job. Lovely hierarchy of script! #fragmentology #ManuscriptFragment
The Fragmenta Iguvina delegation is in Leeds for the fantastic workshop ‘A Special Kind of Stowaway’! Great to be here with @kuric_ivana! My sincerest gratitude to @emmacayley and @nkivilcimyavuz for the invitation and the warm hospitality! #fragmentology @FragmentariumMS
Despite working with old materials, I always spot something new every day - like this lovely print woodcut initial ‘T’ recycled and pasted onto the spine of another book! Woodcut initials were highly collectible in the 18th/19thc. 📖 #fragmentology #fragmentFriday
I love when two of my favorite things are in the same auction: a Flemish old master painting and manuscript #fragmentology. On the verso of this van cleeve workshop(?) panel you can see a fragment a humanist script poking through. shorturl.at/DFIM2

It’s here! The first day of our first Digital Explorations workshop! Today: Reflectance Transformation Imaging (RTI) led by the fantastic @BillEndres and at Leeds by @nkivilcimyavuz So far going incredibly well in spite of being delivered virtually due to covid! #fragmentology
How to do things with your old accounting records (an old roll of accounts repurposed as a flyleaf in the Cartulary of Lacock Abbey). #MedievalManuscripts #Manuscripts #Fragmentology #Recycling

New #OttoEge leaf: Though stained and worn, still a fascinating #ManuscriptFragment from a 13th-century Flemish Psalter (HL 125), w/ text from the Magnificat, Nunc dimittis & Athanasian Creed. Early parchment repair at lower exterior corner is interesting, too. #fragmentology

Small is beautiful. The remnants of a miniature breviary amongst the fragments in @ehcantwerp Fragm. 277. Soon to be read on the Fragmentarium platform. #fragmentology

Having a great time at Leeds with Bill Duba @FragmentariumMS and Laura Albiero @fairy3273, working on the Ripon fragments. Thanks to @nkivilcimyavuz and @emmacayley for the hospitality! #fragmentology
Yesterday evening, @laurarogari_ and I gave a talk on the Gubbio fragments project, hosted by @FragmentariumMS. Very proud and lucky to supervise such a brilliant doctoral student! If you're interested, we'll share a YouTube link to the video recording soon. #fragmentology
