I read Anno's Mysterious Multiplying Jar aloud to my 3rd graders, and when they saw the last double page spread they cheered.

Another recommendation: The I Hate Mathematics book by @mburnsmath. I haven't read it much with my kids yet but I absolutely loved it when I was a kid. I don't know how many times I got that one from the library growing up.
