ipython/jupyter widget version of nano-protein-viewer is coming out soon stay tuned!
Jupyter notebooks suffer from a reproducibility crisis. A 2019 paper found just 24% of 800k Jupyter notebooks on GitHub could be rerun, and only 4% reproduced the same results! @themylesfiles and I are fixing notebooks because this is untenable for science/data engineering 🧵
oh no notebooks are great said the data scientist then they calmly explained that if you run cells 1,3,4,7,5 in that order the code will run
This AI-powered Juypter implementation has huge potential. They have added Mistral's Codestral and GPT4-o for inline AI Copilot auto-complete, code generation, editing, error fixing, and sidebar chat. I like that it feels more like a collaborative tool and less like a tool to…

Rarely do I find tools/libraries that get me excited enough to want to ditch everything I'm working on so I can contribute/share/use/explore them. Observable Plot made that list a few years ago and has remained at the top since. observablehq.com/@observablehq/…
JupyterLite is the Jupyter notebook stack using Python-compiled-to-WebAssembly, running directly in your browser, no server required It's an astonishingly cool piece of software, and now it's part of the official Try Jupyter website!
We are trying an experiment on jupyter.org - the top two links of try.jupyter.org will serve a *jupyterlite* session instead of Binder. You'll get a JupyterLab+SciPy environment running in your browser! Please give feedback! jupyter.org/try
I want to show you something. I think this is really cool... So I'm prototyping a way to easily write real-time apps in a way that feels natural within SwiftUI. And I have landed on basically providing the same API as Observable Object 🤯 Here's a small demo:
Writing data wrangling code can be challenging, so we built the Data Wrangler to help compose and preview transformations using the amazing Arquero package (by @uwdata // @jeffrey_heer). Check it out! observablehq.com/@observablehq/…

Quick prototype of the day: a JupyterLab extension to show a flash effect when a notebook cell is executed ✨ This can be useful during a presentation (screen sharing and video calls), or when giving a talk. - GitHub: github.com/jtpio/jupyterl… - Binder: mybinder.org/v2/gh/jtpio/ju…
Excited to share our #datavis notebook curriculum for learning visualization! Visual encoding, data transformation, interaction, maps, & more! Into Python? Here's Altair + Jupyter: github.com/uwdata/visuali… Prefer JavaScript? See Vega-Lite + @observablehq: observablehq.com/collection/@uw…
All of the #Prophet documentation is generated from Jupyter notebooks, and we even run Python and R code in the same notebook to show that results are equivalent. Jupyter is the best implementation so far of Knuth’s literate programming concept.
Finally took the time to figure out how to write blog posts in @ProjectJupyter! It's a real pleasure - and there's no chance that I'll have some buggy code in there, since it's actually running. As a bonus, readers can try the code themselves. Here's a taste of my next post...

Version control for Jupyter notebooks. Jupytext saves two (synced) versions of your notebook: a .ipynb file and a .py file github.com/mwouts/jupytext
Tradeoff solved: Jupyter Notebook OR version control. Jupytext brings you the best of both worlds reddit.com/r/MachineLearn…
Jupyter Notebookからスクリプトを抽出してPython/R/Juliaファイルにする、さらにファイルを修正してJupyterに戻す、ということを可能にするツール。これで、Jupyter上のスクリプトを好きなエディタで編集して反映させることができる。 github.com/mwouts/jupytext
Jupyter Notebook形式のファイルをダブルクリックで開けられてjupyterlabも常駐させてくれるアプリを作ったら快適になったので使っていいですよ github.com/uetchy/juno ☄️
You might now know this jupyter debugging trick, but I bet you'll be glad you do now...
