The way Chrome hides the protocol in the address bar can be challenging at times, but there's now a way to disable that and show the entire URL + protocol 🎊️ 1. Enable chrome://flags/#omnibox-context-menu-show-full-urls 2. Right click the address bar 3. Click Show full URLs

Okay, so it's #2020 and #Google is now so smart it's borderline unusable anymore. The #omnibox used to be useful - now it proposes I change my search to completely unrelated terms (the latter of which might not even exist).

Finally found the setting to allow you to go back to the normal Chrome URL bar. Go to "chrome://flags/#omnibox-ui-hide-steady-state-url-scheme-and-subdomains", set to Disabled, and then Relaunch.

Just updated to Chrome 76 and found that it once again began stripping http(s):// and www. from urls even though I re-enabled it before. Turns out, the flag has changed to chrome://flags/#omnibox-ui-hide-steady-state-url-trivial-subdomains. Disabled it and now all is good again.

في تحديث متصفح كروم v76 تم إخفاء www وhttps من شريط العنوان (تم إزالتها سابقاً في v69). لتفعيلها من جديد ضع في شريط العنوان التالي وعطلها: chrome://flags/#omnibox-ui-hide-steady-state-url-scheme chrome://flags/#omnibox-ui-hide-steady-state-url-trivial-subdomains .

If for some reason you want to turn off the feature that hides "the scheme and trivial subdomains" then you can with "chrome://flags/#omnibox-ui-hide-steady-state-url-scheme-and-subdomains".

Okay, so it's #2020 and #Google is now so smart it's borderline unusable anymore. The #omnibox used to be useful - now it proposes I change my search to completely unrelated terms (the latter of which might not even exist).
